21st Century Insurance does not like the EVO

I get my renewal in the mail today and they decided to DOUBLE my rate from $550 to $1100 every 6 months. I decided to give them a call and find out why they did it. According to the rep. they have an independent company that rates vehicles and they changed the symbol of the car from a small sedan to a high performance vehicle. This vehicle is listed as an extra vehicle on my policy so I can only imagine what it would be if the car was my primary vehicle.

What are you guys paying for insurance? I have a driving for 14 years with no tickets or accidents.

Since you're in CA, I highly recommend switching to Wawanesa. All my friends have it. It's the cheapest and they are pretty well-rated. They don't advertise at all.

www.wawanesa.com

do yourself a favor and at least get a quote!

I am paying $865 a year for the EVO on a 2-car policy... the other car being my Z06 which is only $560 a year. The EVO does have a pretty high rate...

that's odd... did you have any moving violations recently? 21st is the only insurance company to give me the cheapest rates at 886/6mo. note that i am 21 yrs old and its been the same rate for about 6mo now even though i still havent purchased the evo, '06. i would imagine they would give me a higher quote cost if they just discovered these "new" traits about the car as they have by raising your payments. i guess its time for you to change providers.

btw how old are you? clean record?

+1...same here and all of the other insurance companies hate on Wawa. I love'em....They are the only company that cared about me driving a company car. I think that holds alot of weight for insurance companies. If your EVO is not your daily driver they'll be even less.

I pay $660 a year with my 05 EVO as a non-dialy driver status car. My 03 EVO as a daily driver is $900 a year. 34 years old with a clean driving record through State Farm. Note: That is per year not every 6 months.

I tried getting a quote with 21st on the Evo since i've been with them since I first started driving at 16.. i'm 21 now, clean record. the ONLINE quote showed me about $1000/6 months.. then when I called them, they quoted me $1800/6 months after they typed in the VIN number.. I told them, thanks for losing a customer and hung up. I found esurance and am paying about $1000/6 months. Cali insurance sucks, oh well.. so does it's gas and housing..
