bad decision
well it really sucks if u don't know anything, so u guys can laugh at me. i'm really new about tuning cars, but what i do really care about is to get my dream car. since i was a kid i was watchin rally racin and then i saw evo 3 so i told myself i want to have the car. now i have the evo 8. i was happy about it since the previews evos didn't came here in the u.s.. now that i have the car, i realized that something is missing, my knowledge about that car. no one was here to help me so i started buying things that i think it would take care of the car(turbo timer, hks blow off valve, ground wires) now that i see everyone gets intake and exahaust for basic mods, i decided to buy an intake. but i didn't realized that i have to tune up my maf to match it. my intake is coming this monday buy i can't install it bcoz i still need to drive to orlando fl to have somebody to tune(7 hrs. away by the way). now i sit like an idiot regreting that i bought that intake that i cannot install and i just wasted $400 for something i cant install to my car. i don't know what else can i say but no ones here to help me.
Well a quick read on the boards woulda fixed that, but welcome to EvoM. Why drive all the way to Orlando? Do a mail in ECU flash after installing the stuff and you will be in business.
Personally, I'd wait to get exhaust/DP/intake on all at once then send in the ECU for the flash. No need to really go to a dyno and have it custom tuned for just basic mods, a mail in is more than enough.
Otherwise, enjoy your new car. Driving it stock til you have some basic mods purchased and ready to install won't be too difficult I don't think!
Edit for below -- I didn't realize you just plain didn't know how to install the stuff either. It's not hard! Check the how-to section, plenty of Evo's for Dummies articles there. Plus http://www.evomoto.com/ has a few good guides as well.
Take it slow, don't be in a hurry to get stuff on your car and read as much as you can. You'll be surprised how much you can learn in a short amount of time.

buy S AFC and logger. Then, tune yourself!
tunning is not that hard. it is all about fuel mixture and timing.
you won't get greate tune. But you can do pretty nice tune. you will gain 20+ whp with just S AFC.
BTW, you can buy a cheap logger from me. I have 2 loggers now. I need to get rid of my old one. PM me if you are interested.

If you can't get your ECU tuned right away don't sweat it.. You can still install the intake and be fine, not any faster than you were really, but it won't HURT the car.. All for nothin, it does make the car SOUND cool as hell.. I have intake, Turbo back exhaust, 272 cams and still havn't got the ECU tuned.. been that way for 30k miles now and the car is fine.. It's only about 6 tenths faster in the 1/4mile than stock, when it really should be in the low low 12's/ high 11's.. But it wont hurt anything, just makes it run richer.

Tuning for your car is as easy as UPS.
As was mentioned, you can get a mail in flash from Dynoflash.
Al's inventory of preset tunes cover a large amount of mod combinations.
So go ahead and get what you want, then get your ECU reflashed to match your mods.
Here is a thread that tells you what to do -

TurboTrix is coming to Pensicola.
If you can get in on this, it will make your decisions about how to mod easier.
If you are new to the tuning scene, it would be wise to stay away from tune-it-yourself options
until your knowledge and skills improve.
