Help with big decision

So my parents are starting to get very fed up with my car. They cant stand mitsubishi and they cant stand the problems ive been having with it. They are thinking about selling my car and buying me a different car. If you were in my place, what kind of car would you get for less than 30 grand? I could also get a car for like 10 grand and put 20 grand of mods into it, so i have 30 grand to spend in total. Or, another thing im thinking of doing is just begging and pleading to keep the evo. But, if all else fails, what cars should i look at that will perform like the evo, with or without mods?
Thanks.

What problems have you been having?

Are they because of your mods?

Do you really think if you buy a 10k and put 20k worth of mods that isn't going to break too?

Not only that, if you buy a 10k car, then spend 20k on it, you'll most likely end up getting like 8k back for it.

My parents absolutely hate mitsubishi because of the people working there and their policies. Ive been having some problems with the brakes scratching while not applying them, clutch problems, and a few other small things. The main thing is theyre just fed up with mitsu, and i need a new clutch soon and they dont want to see me spend 2k on a new clutch.

Try to swing a used zo6 and just leave it stock.
Dont get some beater and spend infinite money on it. Your parents will hate it even more.

The problem with the act is im getting locked out of gears. Its ok for daily drivability, but whenever i wanna get on it, i cant shift fast at all, so i need a new clutch.

How is it Mitsus fault that you are getting locked out of gears?

What is the deal with the brakes? It is just that they are noisy?

i never said it was mitsu's fault. I just said that my parents hate mitsu becase everyone that works there (from what ive experienced) are jerks and dont care about customer service. And i donno whats up with the brakes, the mitsu service manager said "its not our problem any more, but you need to get them replaced soon"

Well if it’s a wear item like brake pads that won’t be covered under warranty. These are high maintenance cars. You might need expensive clutches or expensive brake pads. Probably not as often if you drive it right. Don't think that if you get a used viper it will be easy and cheap to maintain. But don't worry your parents will decide they don't like the way the receptionist greet them and go buy you a porche a few weeks later.
