I don't really remember specifics as I was soooo excited and happy for this guy

As for boost hitting sooner, I could swear it did but then again, It has been a long time since I rode in a VIII. Guys..but the seats are just ****ing awesome. To me, they feel much more supportive. I think it's because the bottom end sit's lower and the leg support are a little more raised. Beautiful ride! Congrats again Narb!

ANSWER to all those who think it is just LateApex's Evo IX that has an off-center intercooler:
All Evo IXs have off-center intercoolers, it is just the way the car was designed. The picture from the link is from another fellow EvoM Member who just recently purchased his Evo IX in Hong Kong. As you can see, the intercooler is off-center as well.

LateApex....I just wanted to help you justify the fact that the intercooler is off-center on all Evo IXs. Who cares, youre the first to own an Evo IX in the states

YELLO ! (not yellow) & HUMA HUMA!

The only thing that you should have any buyer's remorse about (and I not saying you will :-) is the fact that there are ingrates who happen to drive the same model car that you do. I think they are a little off-center ;-) but they'll get better, I'm sure.

You're famous Dude, you're down in history as having the first US Evo IX. Of course that and a gift card will get you a coffee at starbucks, but I'm still jealous.

For what it's worth (with all respect to the "other bumper" lovers) the JDM rear bumper is the only thing I was bummed about. I was even think of getting an VIII bumper as a mod. Guess I can put the $ into the engine where it belongs!

Gives us some comments on the variable valve timing.

Congratulations .......... you dog! ;-)

well, if they designed the car with an off-center FMIC then they are more retarded than i have given them credit for.

and that sounds like an EVO that someone doesn't want to buy used....doesnt sound like its getting the proper break in.

not hating, just pointing out. I would love to see a pic of the seats though....is there still a SSL option that you have to get to have HIDs?

LOL, come on....you know its retarded. Why in the hell would you do that? if you must, atleast make the hole in the front bumper small enough where you can't see the endtanks, therefore not noticing it being off center.

I mean, why?

I guess it just doesn't strike me in the same way. I've seen aftermarket applications that make me wonder more. Maybe there's a functional reason. What does the JDM model look like? I haven't noticed and can't look it up right now.

I had bigger issues with other parts of the MR, I don't want to go into details and upset anybody about, but there are things I'd use a claw hammer to remove. I'm bothered by a lot of US market changes that **** me off way more. But I'm REAL happy we have an Evo.

Could Be Worse ........ Could be an 06 Subie (Yak right into the bag for that ugly duck)

The 04-05's must have sky rocketed in value the day it was unveiled ( "it's alive , it's alive , God save us all, it's ALIVE") Seriously, we should all pray for the Subaru community, they are probably all still deep in shock while we party on with visions of variable valve timing. Buy some stock in any public company that makes aftermarket front bumper mods for them.
