Im sure everyone knows that I drive a VI. Well after riding in my buddies 03 USDM I have to have one. Im sure some of yall are thinking WTF but hey I got my reasons.
But I got a question. I see that everyone is getting them flashed. My buddy has done the mail in flash but hes still having some problems. With us being here in Belgium should I flash the car in the states or just not flash it at all. Its not all that important but just curious.

i wouldnt get a flash from the state for you car. since you are not in the US, the fuel grade and quality would be quite different. also, you want to choose an ems that you will have support close by. let's say you have a problem with your flash, do you want to wait about 2 weeks while it is being shipped back and forth to the tuner that tunes your ecu? just find a good tuner that is somewhat close to you and go with whatever ems they are comfortable with.
just my 0.02c
just my 0.02c
I think it will be a location problem since you live in Belgium. Not sure what tuners are over there in Europe that specializes in Evos? Ralliart in England?
But if you want to get a flash for your car, the tuners over here will be able to custom flash to your needs. i.e. different octane etc.
It can be done just depending on how much money you want to spend and the time.

damn here it is the other way round, people are selling there 8s for the more limited 6 TME. anyway, if u want more power, the 03 USDM 8 is the simplest to modify since it doesnt have ayc/acd. but if u want a stock car which u can use on the tracks, i suggest to stick with your 6 or get a 7.

Ive had my VI for almost 2years now. Pretty much trouble free. The only thing I have done is regular maintenance. She is 100% stock all the way down to the air box. With my 2 Nurburgring trips, and countless back road tripsits been great but its time to mod. If feel Im ready to move on.
Since I cant take the VI back to the states there is no point in modding it. Before some jump in and says yes you can listen yourself. Bottom line is everysingle(with the excption of a couple) pre-USDM Evo in the states are ILLEGAL. You can take apart, vin swap or do what ever you want but that car is still illegal. My VI is daily driven I bought the car to drive it. Not to let it sit or baby it. If I were to bring myVI back with me I would be worried bout somene stealing it, hitting it, ect. I love being on the track, and I dont want to have to worry about parts.
And personally after owning one there aint nothing special bout VI over the VIII. As long as theres perfectly good Evos sold in the states im a happy camper.
End rant.
With that said I should be good with BC/Intake/Exhaust before really needing a flash?
