Greddy Ti vs HKS Hi power sound levels
Greddy Ti vs HKS Hi power sound levels
I been trying to find out why the Greddy Ti is so much louder than the HKS Hipower exhaust. From what I see is that the HKS only has one resonator in their exhaust and the Greddy Ti has none. Now if I were to put a resonator test pipe on my Greddy Ti wouldnt I be able to get similar db results like the HKS Hipower? People who have switched exhaust said the HKS is much more quiet than the Greddy Ti. So the question is do you think its the material thats the main cause of the loud muffler or its mostly due to the Greddy not having a resonator built in it?
i don't think the greddy titanium is that loud my friend has it. and it's not even as loud as the amuse titanium exhaust on my friend's s2k+intake(I don't think his s2k is loud too). I wonder if there is a sound clip with turboback greddy titanium on it.
yeah here's some sound clips from road race engineering.

nice of them to test it out for us
I've had good luck with Greddy exhaust stuff in the past, sounds nice and makes good power.
you can put in the silencer that comes with it to help avoid unwanted attention.

Resonators restrict flow and will limit horspower. How much, depends on many factors. You can't have the best of both worlds, very high flow and quiet. Most catbacks strike a compromise between noise and flow, you just have to find one that fits your needs.
