USDM EVO's
USDM EVO's
Just curioius why do people keep calling the USDM EVO VIII a GSR, when it obvious is not. In the USDM the only models are RS, EVO VIII, EVO VIII SSL and the EVO VIII MR. Oh yeah that includes the EVO IX too. Why not just call it EVO VIII SSL. Is it an ego thing or something? I mean if you went to the dealer and said I need a part for a EVO VIII GSR. The dealer will probably look at you say what is a EVO VIII GSR. You all know already how clueless they are. Just feel like breaking *****.

It's due in part because you have an MR and others have an RS, if someone simply says they have a "Lancer Evolution 8" ... which one is it then? Simply saying GSR denotes that it is neither an MR or RS. It really doesn't matter outside the Evolution community anyways. For example, an Evo with a vortex generator can be mistaken as an MR.
I wonder why people keep referring to their Evos as USDM (US domestic market).
JDM is for cars made and sold in Japan.
USDM is for cars made and sold in the US.
The US Evolution is made in Japan, sold in the US, thus some sort of an export (JEM?).

From dictionary.com:
Domestic: “Produced in or indigenous to a particular country”
