How easy is it to install a Boost Gauge? I have seen a couple of HOW TO's on it which one is the best?

not hard, it takes a bit of time on your first install because you want to find the best way to get thru the firewall (which is on the passenger side by the ECU) but depending on your skill level, it shouldnt be too difficult...now i installed cams in my car, so a boost gauge was cake, it really depends on your experience how long it will take

I drilled a new hole on my firewall and used an electric boost gauge. I had to mount a sending unit under the hood and then pass wiring thru the firewall. I did this mainly because I did oil pressure and temp and didn't want hot oil in my dash. So I bought all three gauges in electric. If you are only going to get a boost gauge I would suggest getting a mechanical gauge and running a vac line thru the firewall. Go behind the ECU on the passanger side. buy extra tubing so you don't run short. It is cheap don't scimp here. Then run the line as needed. Don't forget you will need a "T" to tap into the boost sourse. I would recomed tapping in on the intake manifold on the passanger side right on top. On a scale of 1-10 for real..... 2

here are some of my thoughts on what I havbe done...

changing brake pads... 1
adding mechanical boost gauge... 2
changing exhaust (full system)... 2 (more work but not harder)
ss clutch line... 3
Xede (will boost pill removal)... 4
cams and cam gears... 9
hot side with o2 and minifold... 10
Intercooler hose upgrade (Samco)... 8 gotta remove lots of parts to get access
oil pressure and oil temp gauges... 4
fuel pump upgrade... 2 (just cause it is messy)
radio relocate... 1
turbo timer... 3 if you tap in parking brake and o2 wiring
grounding kit... 2
Vishnu S.M.A.R.T. Install... 3

Install....

http://www.jonesland.com/evo/BoostGauge_Install.htm

brand and gauge type is up to your preference for the look of your interior. Quality is usualy there in any major brand name. I have Omori (from vishnu) and I am very happy with them.

Plus I can change the color of the face to any color I want.

Evomoto.com It was our first time installing too.... wasn't that hard. Had to remove the strut bar and drill a hole through the firewall above the A/C lines and wired it to the cig light. Very easy We have the autometer as well.... you shouldn't have a prob. Less than an hour! Good luck
