The undertray is part of the front Aerodynamic package. There are definitely things that it helps with, as well as with holding the front bumper properly inplace and for reinforcement. Also, sure it causes problems when installing things, but it also keeps rocks and other stuff from banging up into engine componets.

I've seen an Evo with, and without it, and the engine bay of the one without it, was HORRIBLY more dirty and more "used" looking.
I agree, it would stay much cleaner with it on, cleaning an engine bay is a big PITA.

Get an apr front splitter and problem solved. Its like 10 bolts to remove instead of a million pushclips.

but with the undertray off, there is more air to cool the dp. This is good, especially if you have 3in dp that may heat up oil pan...

The Beatrush underpanel is much easier to remove than stock. Plus it uses bolts, instead of the push clips. Here are some pictures of the Beatrush underpanel:

I agree, I think that the undertray is part of the Aerodynamics of the whole car. I don't see why you wouldn't just leave it on there anyways, not like you see it. I'm sure it keeps the engine much cleaner like Fireball said. It's removed by some POS plastic screws, most of mine are broken by now but still i've got in there.

Can the Beatrush underpanel be used with an aftermarket lip like the Do luck carbon fiber lip?

the undertray also directs airflow to the two front brake rotors. That reason by itself should be enough to keep it on.

Stick to the stock undertray cover. Cut it up into smaller sections like I did and you only have to deal with a few screws than all of it. I did it after the Ic hose popped on me again.

Beatrush panel is nice, but not the price, especially since it will just get "beat" up by the bad roads around detroit.

The Beatrush underpanel is meant to get beat by anything that comes to it, since it was mainly design for protecting the under-engine from heavy rally competition. www.laile.co.jp
