If he is an auto, you might have a hard time. Auto is quicker than the 6m.

He's getting the 6 speed, and it may stay stock for a while since he's not a big gear head.

On my mods, by the way, EMS = DSMLink . No, it's not overkill. The ability to log everything, adjust timing/fuel, have my check engine light flash if I knock, etc, etc, is the foundation of a strong and well-tuned Evo.

^^^ i thought it was an aem ems my bad. i don't know what a dsmlink is. but standalones are not needed for your mods and you could hardly get more power out of it then you could with a $175 flash with no need to monitor your corrections. and paying for more in tuning then mods is the definition of overkill. much like an IC on a stock turbo, unless you road race often. but i understand why you have the ic, and you probabl;y have a good reason for having the standalone

Yeah, that's the beauty of my EMS, it's not a standalone. My ECU was made by Mitsu. Having the ability to log and change anything I want, all while being able to pass state inspection is certainly worth the investment; in my humble opinion.

The turbo won't be bone stock for long, either. I'm just worried that I'll need cams also in order to pull a few cars on the GTO. We'll see!

You can beat it stock for stock if you can drive halfway decent.

they are fast cars if driven correctly. I've never lost to one at the track but thats all driver error because they are about the same weight with more power.

A lot of those guys think they drive around on gods chariot or something... just check out :

they say we are typical ricers but I say they are typical red necks...

My buddy bought the GTO tonight...damn! I need to be sure and have my exhaust installed by the time his break-in period is complete. I have a feeling that cams and maybe a larger turbo are on the way too just to make sure the job gets done.

All the GTslO thread topics are like "b1tch slapped a Acura", "Killed a whatever", or "beat a this or that" no actual track times or info, just street racing crap and exaaaagerated street stories where they passed a 911 that probably wasn't even noticing.

GTO: might be sort of quick but it's just another poorly engineered pile of crap, made buy a lazy union members, such as myself, 5 years behind in technology.

Head studs w/t methanol injection and with your stock exhaust would pull 2 car lengths on a 05 GTO in less than 2 seconds

I saw another GTO thread being started on here, so I figured I should provide an update to this one...

I've done just about everything I want to do to the Evo except for cams.

After getting a ride in my now-modified Evo, my buddy with the GTO doesn't even want to race anymore! He's saying it's not even fair because of all the modifications I've done, to which I reply, "yeah, but your engine is 3 times the size of mine!!" Oh well.

I have yet to see one break into the 12s, including the 05s. There is a large owners' club that goes to our local track every other month or so. I think the quickest I've seen is a 13.0. Most, if not all of the cars are probably stock, but I'm not sure.

0-60 should be more like 5.6-5.8

if they were that fast to 60 then they'd have much lower et's than 13.5

like 12.8
