Those tools on the LS1GTO forums are in their own little world. I've just developed a new hatred for them. All they do is compliment each other and reassure themselves that the GTO is either faster than "said car" or with a couple mods their car would *** rape "said car".

The 04s weren't as impressive but the 05s are VERY impressive and take mods very well.

They are a good car for the money IMO, I wouldn't race one from a roll unless you're putting down some serious power =p
I agree. Although, i don't think it's fair to NOT race someone who you think will beat you. I get people trying to race me ALL the time just to see what my car can do. I've never came up on a 05 GTO, but i'd like to see how it handles my Evo regardless if he makes me cry like a little school girl *(On the track of course)*

I couldn't help it... I really couldn't.

I followed the link in this thread (below again) and I'm having some fun w/ the GTO guys. I started nice (sorta) but you can't fault a guy for defending himself, can you?

Anyway, if you're bored my posts start on page 3, #78. I think it's funny but, then again, I kill me... I really do.

My friend has a brand new 2005 GTO and we raced a couple times. We went from a roll on about 50mph 2 times, I walked on him. He was actually suprised how hard I pulled. They are very heavy!

I raced him before I had the DC Mani and Helix 02. So my car should be lil over 350whp or around there.

330whp is all you need to pull them.

First you you were buying an MR Turbo. Then you were corrected that all 05's have the same hotside and all of sudden that's what you meant to say. Your mod list looked ridiculous to anybody on the board. Then you claim to have DSMlink for your EVO. That's even better since they don't make DSMLink for the EVO. Do you have any other good stories?

Nah, you still dont need an upgraded turbo. Ive walked on them from 3rd gear roll-ons easily. Im no where near maxing out my stock turbo.

Thats awesome. I love it when you tool someone & they pull a a**hole move like that. Nothing like really letting them know they got pummeld I missed my exit this afternoon...I was in the wife's Sub & I had to rail a guy in an M3, of course I missed my exit but it was well worth it.

I'm sorry, but the people on here who said they beat an '05 GTO with a stock Evo from a roll are full of crap. Maybe from a dig, but that's about it.

Road and Track or Car and Driver did a comparison between a stock STI and the new GTO. If going stright was your aim then the GTO was your car. However if you ever intend to turn. The power plus AWD is the way to go. They said through the slalom (spell?) course the GTO had alot of body roll, "like driving a BIG boat." Go Evo!
