is it possible to run 9 sec with only 450whp on v8 muscle car?

i m asking this cause the guy i know he got 87 seomthing camero with built motor in it ,,,,,,natural aspriated engine that puts down about 450whp and 480tq... and he keep insists that its running high 9sec 1/4mi and about 130mph...the weight on that car is like 3700lb ,,,,
what do u think? i think he is bull shi ting me.... is there something big difference between v8 and 4cyl turbo engine?
i know inorder to get into 10sec in 1/4mi u need to have at least 600whp on evo....but u need alot less whp on v8 muscle car???

He's lying! My buddy has a supercharged Mustang putting down around 450RWHP on pump gas...he's HOPING to hit 11's, and it's a beast.

Pure BS if you ask me. If the car weighs as much as you say it does, then there is no physical way that car could pull 9 or 10 seconds on the quarter mile with 450whp. The 2006 Z06 Corvette is said to make 500bhp (Figure in a 10 percent drivetrain loss and you get 450rwhp) and weighs in at just 3100ish lbs; making approx. quarter mile times of 12ish seconds, high 11s if you've got a REALLY talanted driver.

Absolutely not. Besides, a 9 sec pass would have a LOT FASTER speed than 130mph.

9 sec pass can happen on 130mph trap, but at 1700 pounds not 3700pounds...bottom line BS.

this tells something....how come its not happening to evo? the evo with 430whp passing 10sec?... as we know 500-600whp evo can run into 10s...

Don't believe everything you hear. a 1987 Camaro weighs around 3400lbs. 450whp MIGHT net him high 11s AT BEST.

I own a Camaro. This guy's full of crap. Just punk this fool.
