Or which one works...

Stock turbo 400+whp, 11.8 in the 1/4, Fastest MR. I have been reflashed + SAFC, but not by Dynoflash or Works.

I strongly recommend Jestrtuning.com, there are many available options and the level of service, quality of product, knowledge and 10 plus years of experience are all untouchable. I am in the low 12s on straight 93 octane and minimal mods with just the flash, no other fuel management. The Jestr flash speaks for itself, and I guarantee you can search for hours and never find anything but positive comments about the company.

why do some people get a flash and also a safc? wouldnt it be kinda a waste of money? and if your already getting 20-30whp out of most flash's adding a safc im guessing wouldnt give you too much extra power....please explain. thanks

A custom tuned flash must be tuned to be SAFE in all weather conditions and this in turn leaves some good power on the table. With a SAFC and other goodies you can tune for racegas, and a bit more aggressively if the weather/conditions permits.

Also, if you upgrade your turbo you can also tune via safc-II. The pro of a flash is that it you don't have to do any work but, you will have to get your car reflashed when you add more mods and this costs more money.

With a SAFC-II you will need at least a pocketlogger, time/patience, wideband 02 sensor and some tuning knowlege.

cool thanks for the info.....when you say tune for weather and what not....suppose you get a flash and you drive your car year round where there are different seasons....really hot weather all the way to very cold in the winter....is the flash not a good idea or what? is it better for one climate?

The stock ECU has a correction factor for different weather conditions built in as do all cars. Al has said that it does a pretty good job of adjusting the fuel, timing, etc so I wouldnt worry about using it if you have dramatic season changes.

Normally, the off the shelf flash's will have a margin of safety built into them to allow for temperature variations. The ECU will also aid in the correction for these changes. Most times the cooler weather will result in the car producing more boost at the same settings and the a/f will run a little leaner, and vice versa for warmer weather. If you have an mbc/ebc you can adjust your boost levels accordingly for the weather if necessary. It is always very useful to have a wideband to monitor your a/f. This is one of the if not the most vital readings for your tune, along with boost.

Some flash tuners from up north however have a really hard time getting the south U.S. flashes to work correctly with humidity, barometric pressures and coolant temps. You would not think 10.5-10.6 a/f would be the ratio after the flash, but I have seen this be the case too many times. Be careful where you spend your money.

No if you have get a good custom ecu reflash the weather really shouldn't be a problem, except in the winter when you may run more boost than wanted.

Its a good idea to adjust your mbc when it starts to get colder because the settings used in the summer sometimes produce too much boost in the winter.

The only time you have to any sort of ecu problems related with temp. outside and with the car not tuned correctly would be with the AEM EMS (stand-alone fuel management system). Its a great tool but it takes a good amount of tweaking/learning/adjusting/money and don't feel its the best option for a daily driven evo8.

Yes, it's best for people who don't know what they're doing.
