Has anyone here ACTUALLY fixed their spoiler clear coat??

Ok so I posted a thread like this recently but I need to try again before I buy another OEM spoiler. The clear on my 03 spoiler is oxidizing in a way. I wanted to know if anyone here has actually fixed this or am I basically stuck in buying a new spoiler. Thanks guys

Thumbs up

if your car has less than 36K miles, it's covered under warranty. the AZ sun melted my clearcoat all the way down to the carbon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!they took pics & replaced it within a week. take it in homie.

Yup, I'm going to go in next week to see if they will fix the clear coat on the brakes and wing too. I have read a couple of places have also fixed warped rotors.

I had my wing re clearcoated ASAP since the white is water getting to CF. Take it to body shop. I paid about $140 to recoat my wing.

Same thing happened to me bro, the dealership said no, so I called corporate mitsubishi, its the 1 800 number on your owners manual. When i took mine to the dealership they are giving me crap about the brembos being wear and tear, so I was like so u tell me that this $hit it Normal Wear and Tear, and the guy could not even speak, I did the same thing when I called Corp Mitsu, but they didnt really give me hassle. They called the dealership that I talked to then the dealership called me and setup my appointment.

Seriously, It's not rocket science, My car has almost 80k miles on it, and I leave it out in the sun every day, and every night. If you wax and polish your spoiler regularly it WILL NOT do that.

I wax my car maybe 3 times a year, And My paint nor my spoiler has faded one bit.

ummmm dude....i bought the car and the spoiler was like this....I sorta figured that the bumper to bumper would cover it....why does everyone automatially assume that people dont take care of their evos.

WRONG about "It will not do that" if you wax it... I waxed my WING ALL the time in an attempt to prevent this and it was fine form a long while... Then it went to crap within a few months... I even garage my EVO over 60% of the time and don't drive it in the winter months where it sits 100% in the garage... I have a dealership working to replace mine, but it is taking forever. No WAY is this an issue with waxing the wing or not...

use Zymol Details wax to prevent clearcoat peeling on wing

I thought I've posted this before, but this stuff is the schit! It's meant for "aerodynamic" pieces, so when you wash your car weekly, like ALL good evo owners do, don't need to wax the whole car, but def wax the wing with this stuff. . .if you've got enough wax on it, water should bead on the wing after it rains, which it always does after I wash my car!

you can buy it from emmonscoachworks.com, about $15 will last year 1-2 years, and you can rest assured, this stuff will protect your junx. . .

Mine's in the garage unless I'm driving it, I wax mine all the time too, and I have spots too, three new spots just popped up recently.

Last week I told the service manager I was ready to get it replaced. He called the district rep (or whoever it is) to get the approval. They asked him to ask me if I waxed the wing. I said yes. He told me later they told him that we're NOT supposed to wax the wing. I thought they said this to deny my claim, but they approved my claim and my new wing is on order.

I looked in the owner's manual when I got home and it doesn't say one way or the other if the wing is supposed to be waxed. All it says is that it may turn yellow over time from sun exposure.

There's other threads on here about this and I think it's a flaw from the factory. I don't think wax or the sun have anything to do with it. If they do it's just how fast it progresses.
