That's actually an excellent idea!! FOr a newb, good thinking. . .the 3M clearcoat stuff that protects ur front end from rock chips could actually cover our wings and protect it from the UV that is bubbling the clear coat. . .maybe we could contact a vendor that does the 3M Clearbra thing and see if they can do a run of these for our wings. . .I'm sure about 200 of us would do it!!!

hey you just want to go to any auto parts store and get some sort of clearcoat in the spray can. MAke sure you shake it really well and it think as long as you use a color prep scuff pad then you will not go through the clear down to the paint or carbonfiber. You got to think that you are not tring to take off all the clear but rather give the new clear something to stick to. As long as it is dull as scuffed then you should have no problem with the new clear sticking. You have to be careful not to spray on to thick or you might drip the clear and you really what each coat to dry well before putting a new coat on or esle it will look foggy and basicly look like ****! good luck ;let me know how it goes

 

I know the carbon fiber look is cool but with the peeling it's giving me a headache. I'm thinking of painting the wing to the body color. Then there won't be any more problems.

it probably hasen't even happend on the 05 b/c they are only a year old. my 03 just started doing it. so wait intill about 07 then the 05 evos i bet will have some of this same crap.

Hey man if you look through the threads, it might even be in the DIY section, I came across some good reading. One of the members has actually posted a complete thread on how to sand and repaint your wing. If I find the thread Ill post it up, really good info though. Ill be going through the same thing when I get back. Its cool though I want to go wingless for a little while
