I think the 9 looks better, the taillights & headlights look far better, it doesn't have that ugly triangle nose that the 8 had. And the seats are far more nicer and look like fancy recaro seats, unlike the cheap dye they used in the 8.

 

i like the new look of the 9,except the back bumper and the rear wing.

 

The back bumper we get on the IX is the same as the VIII. I think the IX front looks better than the VIII but not enough for me to do anything about it. All the changes are minor so for you guys to say that the car is ugly because of them is ridiculous.

 

well if you knew a cute girl and she got a bad nosejob you would think shes ugly.....its kind of like the 8 getting the bad nosejob to the 9.... sometimes little things made a big differance brah

 

lol...your theory would hold true if the evo was a cute girl to begin with, but IMO its not, however, looks are subjective. You can polish a turd till your arm falls off, but at the end of the day its still a turd.

 

For me, it is just the rims. Rims on the 9's are not looking as good as the Enkei's one 8's.

 

I think you will find most will state there has been an improvement in the looks department cleaning up the front end and toning down both the front and rear lamps.
IMO its an improvement both in and outside of the car. I see lots of interest bt VIII owners for IX front clip group buys but I dont see lots of IX owners asking to group buy VIII front clips

 

I've got an '06 IX RS on order, my only slight concern is the intercooler opening when I decide to upgrade to a larger IC. Will I be forced to change out front ends to an aftermarket one? Or will the opening be sufficent for just about any intercooler I get?

other that that, I think the IX is loads prettier than the VIII. Funny how everything comes down to bias eh?

OMG its the same when the Evo VIII came out, ppl didn't like the front. Then a few months later they said it was OK , afta a few months they said it looked good.

The IX front is way better lookin than the VIII!!

 

I like things better about both, but overall I think the 8 looks better. I don't like the 9 frnt bumper, wheels, spoiler, and no jdm rear bumper. I do like the interior better and am kind of curious about the mivec.

 

im kinda up in the air right now..i think i would have to see it in person to be sure..but im kinda liking the 8 more..

 

I think the 8 front end looks better. The 9 looks kinda watered down in comparison to the 8, not as aggressive looking. Just my opinion though.

 

People used to b!tch about the VIII because it looked like "bad" compared to the VII. The IX resembles a transition from the VII imo. It looks and performs better. I fell in love with the Evo long ago with the VIs. So i think the change is a welcome improvement. It;s not like they changed the whole car. Its just, a dare i say it- an evolution. In a few months people will come around because no one is making you buy the car but you want the car if you are sitting here b!tching about how it looks.

The VIII's seats were a joke. Talk about ugly!! The IX's seats are another welcome improvement in both look and ergonomics. What really matters is that they actually hold your *** in place.

 

actually i test drove a 9 for sh*ts and giggles and I must say. those seats are very pretty. but I did not like the fabric or texture at all. i wanted the 9 seats for a while but I'm deffinitely keeping my 8 seats now.
