Insurance

a car thats for pleasure is the insurance lower then a car thats for driving to work/school?

Yes, but some insurance companies may want to verify that you drive it for the miles you say you will.

pleasure? aren't most cars driven for pleasure? It depends on annual mileage.

Best place to find out this information is from your Insurance Rep, everyone has different rates and plans. When I transfered my insurance from my TA to the EVO I was asked all these questions.

I have AAA and they do offer discount prices for vehicles with low annual mileage. They do make you sign a statement though and probably will check for mileage at some point to see if you are in reasonable range of what you stated.

I've never had insurance check my mileage on any car I owned thats just crazy. However, if you did get into a accident they might take a peak at the mileage then..

I just switched insurance from a 00SI to 05evo and my insurance went down like 3 bucks. I went from 86 to 83 a month, but we have like 4 cars and house insurance with AAA. I thought it was strange but that's what happened. The only reason I can think of for the price drop would be the theft rate of civics are way higher than the EVOs.
