Insuring Evo 8 MR

Hey guys, I'm new here. Just visiting the forums for now but hopefully will be resident soon when I find the Evo i'm after.

I'm curious to you guys who owns the Evo 8 MR. I'm looking around for insurance and I'm shocked (surprisingly) at the premiums for these things.

I'm 28 years old, and premiums I've been quoted for the MR:

Just Car Insurance - $1,900 yearly with excess of $1,800
Youi - wait for it..... $4,800... and forget about the excess (I take it they just don't want the business)

For the MR guys, who insures you and how??

I'm also looking at the Evo 9, Justcar is $1,200 (alot more reasonable). However they will only cover up to $20,000, and we all know the car is selling for a lot more than that...

Need you opinion and experiences guys? How do I not get shafted by these insurance companies??

I am going through the process now aswell with my TME, car is worth 25K and they will only insure it for 20K max, with $1680 premium and $2125 excess, thats with JUST-CAR.
Getting quote back from Shannons tomorrow and compare.
All the others are super high premiums / excess or do not even insure that vehicle and if they do only for like 12K ( sux ).
Who did you go with DD, or any other Aussie evo drivers, any advice ??
Al.

I'm with Famous Insurance, Evo 8 MR, covered for full agreed value - 1.2k premium with excess $650. They're a small insurance company, haven't had any troubles yet so haven't had to make a claim through them yet. Will see when I do...
