This is the 2nd thread you've started asking about parts in Evo General, but you said you don't have an Evo. What's the deal? Why are you asking us questions when it pertains to a car that isn't an evo?

First Thread

What the HKS SSQV and Greddy Profec B Spec II do on an Evo has nothing to do with what they do on whatever car you own...

I had the Greddy Profec B spec II on my 300ZX TT and it never worked. They sent me 3 of them back to back to back and none worked properly. I then bought the Apexi AVC-R and it not only worked but on the Z and it was awesome. I was able to control boost in all gears and set it per engine RPM. That proved a great tool for 500+ Rwhp in 1st gear by not allowing more than 12lbs of boost I limited the wheel spin and increased my times. I had 16psi of boost in 2nd and 3/4/5 all were set at 24psi. I had the Snow performance methanol kit with a bunch of other goodies to make the fastest car I have ever been in.

For the EVO I have the Blitz Sbi-d it like the Apexi is awesome!

Hope that this bit of info helps...

You will get better reviews from people who have the same car, because these items don't work the same on every car. Also, you aren't providing any benefit to our forum when asking about parts for your non-Evo.

You aren't listening. These parts don't work the same on every car. There's no reason to go on an Evo forum when you don't have one and ask how a particular part performs. There is no such thing as getting info "from all sides" when talking about parts as they pertain to specific cars. There's nothing we can tell you that the owners of your car can't tell you. We also can't give you any clue as to how this part will work on your car.

Same with the HKS SSQV before. You made that your name because of how much you love it, but it sucks on our car in VTA mode. You didn't know that, yet you started a thread talking about how great it was and asking us how we liked it. Since you already had this part, I don't understand the point of asking us about it when you already had yours...it wasn't like you were trying to get info before buying it.

Anyway, none of this makes sense. I've never heard of someone hanging out on the forum of another car while asking questions about parts that perform differently on your car. I don't get it.

No, your thread accomplished nothing. You thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and ended up finding out that it doesn't work on the Evo very well at all, much to your dismay.

Yup, most people recommend i get the one vs the new one ... the new one will not work in psi mode, well they say it cannot be programmed in psi mode ..

EVO-8-Nate did you ever try to program yours in KPA mode ?

Sweet internet fights are awesome! Ok, each car is made differently so there for different cars would act different to each boost controller. I had a turbosmart MBC, it sucked. I have a Profec B, i dont care for it but it does the job right now. Doesnt the Type-S work in knobs too, so it really wouldnt matter what the reading was. The Profec B didnt tune to KPA or PSI just the read out was different so the person could understand it. I had a SSQ on my evo, and it sucked. VTA doesnt work. I agree with Warrtalon, you should go to that certain car forum for the awnser. Other then that i dont understand why this exsists in evo general

Yes, I also had a professional tuner try and it just didn't work. I have helped other people install the profec B spec II on EVO's and many other cars with great success, it was just the 300ZX TT with the miles of intercooler piping that was the problem, I suspect. However, some Z owners got it to work for them without issues. I know of several other 300ZX TT guys that couldn't get it to work either.

The Blitz is very good on my EVO, I love it and there is a constant and steady boost.

What kind of car do you have?

P.s. The guys on this forum don't really care about new people or owners of different cars being here. They just like people to utilyze the search function prior to asking questions. Don't worry they aren't just picking on you, it is like quality assurance for topics that everyone is subject too. Don't take it personal.

I am there ....

But why is it hard to understand taht after i read all reviews i can use that to judge if the unit is good or not ... I have head toyo . nissan . honda and now mitsu people complaning about the same problems with the SPEC II .. now me as a potential buyer, dont you think i want to know all this ? ....

Which SSQ did you have on , the old one with the screw or the new one without .. on the very forum in my post some guys post that they VTA with the new one and had no probs ..

The only thing i agree with is that this should not be in Evo .. but you guys need like a parts review section or something of the sort
