My dad hates my EVO

My dad hates my evo and *****es about it alot any advices on how to get him to like the car.. Should i even try?? I mean all my cars in the family.. Escalade, SLK, S class, are all smooth and comftable.. I mean the SLK was kinda rough at first but then the EVO just Blows that away.. Should i just tell him that he can't understand such things in life and tell him that he is too old..??

I wouldnt sweat it. ITs not like its his car. he'll jsut have to udnerstand that its something youre into. Dont need to always please the 'rents.

My dad almost beat the hell out of me when i brought my lancer home. Ive grown up "tuning" domestics, so an import in the driveway was quite a switch

I take it that you still live with your dad. I know that feeling.. their resentment towards you for your car. Totally unjustified IMO.

Ignore his unlikness of your car. He's from a different generation and thinks differently. However, make him feel 'needed' when you are going to mod your car. IF hes into cars, he likes to work on them. This is your in.

All you can do is explain that you chose your car because it's a pure performance machine, and you were tired of the typical vehicles.. Also, he should accept your decision and respect you for paying your own way, if that's truly what you're doing...

Why do you really care what your father thinks? Did he pay for it? Tell him to shut up. He does realize that your performs a lot better than any of the tanks he put in the driveway, right?

But I guess if he gave you the job, gave you the car (or the means to get the car), and he still lets you live in his house.....he may have a right to complain.

Trust me on this one, it will not be the first time your father will diagree with a decision you make. Just let him know that you respect his opinion, but in the end you have to make your own choices. Basically just let him know that you are listening to him, but you have to make your own choices, if he is reasonable he will respect that.

i don't think his dad bought it for him, b/c if he's that unhappy about it I don't see why he would of bought it for him in the 1st place.......... as far as your dad goes just respect his opinion and try not to fight about it too much, he'll get over it eventually they always do.

Don't tell he's too old. Thats kinda mean. Like my grandfather is really into cars all sorts of cars yet my dad doesn't really give a damn about cars except luxury. The point is age isn't really a factor in this arguement. It's just preference. Just tell your dad that we all have difference preferences and that you would be much more happy to drive an Evo that those other cars you mentioned. If your dad needs a ride from you drive the other cars other than the Evo. I sure that would make more tolerable for him to have an Evo around.
