Driling Holes Into Steering Wheel

I'm thinking about drilling 2 small holes into the streeting wheel (the metal part left and right side) I noticed the back peice seems to be kind of hollow. would it be hard to wire 2 buttons? Would this affect the airbag at all?

To get an idea of what im trying to accomplish.

2 red buttons NOS 1 and NOS 2

no flaming, im serious. is this safe to do without affecting airbag?

They did it with the stock wheel on 2 fast 2 furious for the "nos". just watch the movie and get an idea of how you'd like it. I specifically remember it with the tag team drag race scene. God that movie made our car look bad.... still get people making references to it.

That movie made every car look bad, including the beautiful Camaro and Challenger.

Personally, I think it's stupid..but you might as well do it and see what happens. Best of luck to you.

i would never drill into my steering wheel, just my opinion here...if you're wondering if it would look ok, just photochop it or have someone do it for you before you put holes in the MOMO

Great point. Someone photochop for this kid before he gets airbagged in the face.

Remember to use at least a 200 shot. The more the better.

Also keep in mind structual integrity of the steering wheel. Is a small hole less than an 1/8", just to have clearance of a machine screw or something? I thinking bigger than say 3'8" might start to weaken the steering wheel. I had a aftermarket steering wheel bend all the way to the steering column when I rear ended somebody years ago...my fingers were actual pinched inbetween the wheel and the columb.

But if you feel ok about it knock your self out.........mark hole. ***** punch, center drill, drill, debur....that simple right?

Good luck

Craig

just stick some fake buttons on the steering wheel...you're not actually using nawz, you're just spraying it out of your wheel wells.
