Uh, no. Where did you hear such an absurd thing? The rev limit gets raised by 200rpm to 7800 (from 7600). Please tell us where you are getting your information so that we can steer you away from it...

Do not get an S-AFC. Not sure why the first guy suggested it - very bad advice.

+1 you will be happy with these mods

That should be one of the last mods your should buy, especially for power. (I have that and it's either to hot in summer or to cold in winter)

Warrtalons recommendations are great, I would also add a used K&N drop in filter and maybe used Hallman (instead of a new one) to stay within your budget.

Doesn't Al's flash include boost control? Then he wouldn't need to buy a manual boost controller.

Why would you buy a used K&N air filter? If you cant afford a new filter hmm nm......

It can include boost control, but I don't think it's included in the basic $199 mail-in flash. Could be wrong...

Either way, that would make his boost static, which is usually not preferred.

Wha??? A flash and MBC don't count? Those are 2 of the 3 most important mods on an Evo. The next would be exhaust. You can get a good 30+whp from these 2 mods, and I'd say $10/1hp is a helluva deal. Beats an intake, which is more like $50/1hp...

i would say save your money and in the long run you will save what are you gonna do get flashed every time you get a mod that get expensive i say get all the mods you can safely get without a flash which i know you would find if you search. and then get your flash when you got the money for a street tune or a dyno tune. which at that point you can get the items that need a flash to run safely. but hey if you want a quick boost in power definatley go with the mail in and the mbc

I also agree with the MBC & Flash recommendation. You WILL notice a difference.

With a little extra $$$, a 255 pump wouldn't be a bad idea either.

So that he would stay under his $300 budget

Flash $200/ used MBC @$60/ used K&N filter @$40 =$300

If he bought the last two products new it would be more than $300

they mention the 10,000 rpm redline at:
http://www.dynoflash.com/fullcust.htm

That is a really good idea for the mail-in flash and mbc. How good is a manual boost controller though compared to an electronic one like the greddy profec b II. Should I just get a flash now and save up for an electronic boost controller?
