I just got money for a mod....you decide
So i earned $300 by helping out my dad. I can finally buy a mod now! So far I have a greddy turbo timer, boost gauge, and HKS SSQV blow-off valves. I think I need a power mod now. I have been thinking of a greddy profec b, apexi safc II, or something. Anyone have suggestions for the most bang for the buck?
Many would say get a turbo back exhaust.. but $300 isn't gonna cut it.
My next guess, is a mail in flash for $200 from Dynoflash... or whatever company u decide on.
..or since u already have the gauge.. why not get a boost controller...

Do not get an S-AFC. Not sure why the first guy suggested it - very bad advice.
sorry, what i meant was get someone with a wb to tune the safc. As far as a mail in flash, it basically does what the safc will do. Pretty sure timing will be unchanged with the flash

save up and buy a turboback exhaust with a high flow cat, or if you really want to get the most out of your exhaust get the turboback with a test pipe. This should yield you about 35 horse power with out a tune. Logic performance has a really nice set up for under 600$ I beleive, it is 100% stainless steel with a high polished finish.

I use an S-AFC, so I am a proponent of it, but it's not for people who only have $300 with which to get a few, basic mods. He'd get more out of a flash and MBC than an S-AFC. I also agree with the other guys in regards to saving up for an exhaust, but I didn't suggest that, since I was sticking to his $300 requirement.
Not sure why you said you're "pretty sure timing will be unchanged with the flash" or that "as far as a mail in flash, it basically does what the safc will do," because both of these are wrong. A flash drastically affects timing in the mid-range by raising it much higher while also richening the factory leanness at peak torque. With an S-AFC, if you richen in this area, you lose timing while a flash gives additional timing. The S-AFC catches up on the top end and provides adequate AFRs, but you usually lose 20-30 peak torque and far more than that under the curve from 3500-6000rpm. On the other hand, the S-AFC allows for self-tuning, especially for using race gas, but that takes me back to the earlier comments regarding all the additional parts and knowledge this guy will need in order to take advantage.

If you care, I would suggest not saving up for a Greddy titanium, because that is just a cat-back, and it will cost way more than it's worth. That exhaust costs $799 when you can get a full stainless steel turboback exhaust for $600. So, for $200 less, you will get double the horsepower. The only advantage of the TI exhaust is about 8lbs of weight savings. It's up to your preferences, of course, but if you're just now getting $300 to do these basic, cheap mods, I wouldn't expect $800 to come rolling around for a mod that only gives 10-15whp. Just my opinion...
if you want power and you only have $300 i would say goto www.dynoflash.com for a mail in flash....its only 200 bucks and you are guaranteed at least 20whp...
