ok Air to Fuel... eh?
ok Air to Fuel... eh?
Everyone says Air:Fuel ratio, but is it technically a Fuel:Air ratio?
Because if it was Air:Fuel, then 10:1 (it's 10 parts air to 1 part fuel) would be leaner than say 9:1 (it's 9 parts air to 1 part fuel)
However, I was under the impression that the higher the first number, the richer the mixture (IE: 11:1 is richer than 10:1). But if that is true, then shouldn't it technically be Fuel:Air ratio?

no its air fuel 10 parts of air to 1 part of fuel.. if it was the other way around yur motor would not be firing.... it would either lock up or gas will be pouring out the exhaust when trying to start lol..
Yeah, stock is about 8.8:1 aka, super duper rich.... Most tuned Evos (at least, that I know of on 91 octane) are 11:1 some N/A cars push even leaner conditions at like 12 or even 13:1
