"technically" the gov't has allowed that aftermarket kits MIGHT be legal.
There is a new ruling on Nov. 1st of this year.

It isn't that easy. A few have tried to retrofit the stock HIDs in to non-HID Evos and it is very expensive.

You get a lifetime warranty and a reliable vendor for the $225?

I picked up a kit off ebay. It uses Denso OEM ballasts and Phillips OEM 4300K D2S bulbs with an adapter plug straight into the stock 9006 plug. Works great, looks OEM, not blue. Plug and play.

I parked it next to a stock Evo HID and the light color is the same. Doesn't have as sharp a cut off and it doesn't have the color change at the edge like the OEM but it is very close.

If you look at the OEM HID projector when it is off it actually has a blue-ish color. The 9006 projector doesn't. I think that's what causes the purple fringe at the edge on the OEM HID.

Are you talking about an '06? They look very blue when off. Mine does not look that way anywhere close.
