just curious as to see how the evo's are holding there value out there...if so what did you get and did they discount the new car?

 

I traded my '04 with 24K miles and i got blue book value from it (www.kbb.com), i also got $1000 off of MSRP on the IX

 

i went to go look at them but dont really like it in person, I still think the 05 is the best model.

I concur. Although I do like the looks of the IX there's only one reason why I went with the 05 instead of getting the IX: the MIVEC head. The dynographs are showing stock vs stock the IX is faster, but modify them and I have a feeling they're (the IX) gonna run out of steam unless they do a head swap.

 

I traded my 8 in for my 9 and I love my 9. I also loved my 8RS but the 9MR is about 5x's cooler and better.

 

well Im not trading my 05 anytime soon .. I just can't see myself paying this damn 8.65 tax again . Thats almost $3k.. damn taxes grrrrr

LOL run out of steam? did u read the thread with Precision Dyno. They just added a MBC and custom tuned it. And they got 290whp... i dont think a 05 can even can close. Trust me the MIVEC head, ppl who are still in denial dont kno the potential. Im not saying go trade in ur 05. But if u went out to get the VIII b/c of the IX mivec head, ull be doin the head swapping soon and turbo changing and etc.

 

yes, yes, yes, I saw that thread. I was going to type up a big long reply but it's late and I'm getting lazy. Maybe tomorrow....But one thing I did guess at, and which proved to be accurate based on those dyno's, is that you'll get quicker response from the turbo and better low-end TQ #'s. If you want to keep it stock or mildly tuned the IX is the clear winner.

 

The 4g63 has been around and is pruven power. Im not saying the Mivec wont make the same or more power, its just to soon to tell... Id rather wait a couple of years and see where it goes then buy the first model and find out its not mod friendly etc.
