Thanks Silencer,
Someone called www.DVimaging.com wanted to sponser the car and will be posting pics soon.
As far as the brakes it's actually the opposite problem of fade, until they heat up there isn't much intial bite, I did get into the ABS after some of the fast sections. Hawk HP+ is what I will use if they make them yet, until then just standing on the pedal works fine.
Won't do the Pro Solo as the mutiple drag tree starts are much more abusive than I thought....I tried 5K launch and nothing but bog, not willing to do repetitive 6500 rpm starts on race rubber on a new car.

how would you compare your evo vii to the us evo? pros? cons?
From what I can compare with my evo 7 when I autoxed it stock with street tires, my evo pulls harder than the US version, especially down low. The turbo lag is apparent on the 8 versus my 7. Also, the 8 understeers quite heavily, whereas my 7 did not. My 7 has a very slight understeer, but I can fix that quite easily with another ACD ECU, and I am sure R tires will help as well. The US evo will need to have understeer dialed out with other means, since it does not have ACD.
The seats are also very wide compared to mine. They don't remotely keep you as tight as mine.
I will need to drive the 8 more to really compare it to the 7. But that's all I could see so far.

Congrats Rick,
It was good to meet you there. For the brakes just remember that the calipers are the "F40" type Brembos. Measure the pad thickness and start looking. There should be a good selection of pads for it.
I'm trying to track down the "group N" knock back springs. Brembo make them for rally use but several UK types reccomend them as a good cheap upgrade. They help with the intial pad bite and brake feel. If I find them I will give you a shout.

On 7s it come stock at -1 degree camber. For -2 degrees camber, turn the bolt 180 degrees. If I remember right the bolt hole is marked with dots.

You can get -2 degrees front camber and -1 degree rear camber without eccentric bolts.
WTZ,
Which position should the adjustment be for -2 deg in the frt? Do you know waht the stock camber and toe specs are? - don't have a manual yet.
Thanks

Where the heck did they get ths SS classification from?!? Word from the SCCA is classing in AS initially. Somebody seems to have issues against turbo imports at your location apparently...
FYI, here is a memo I sent SCCA concerning classification of the EVO.
Solo2 Classing Reccomendations for SCCA
Stock class
In SS the ZO6 weighs less than the EVO, has 75% more hp, 50/50 vs. 60/40 balance, more tire and a much lower CG. Of course, in the wet the 4WD equalizes all the above. In AS the E46 M3 is much more powerful and has a better balanced chassis.
The EVO compares favorably to the BMW E36 M3 in terms of performance, weight, tire size and hp. On a sweeper course the E36 M3’s balance and low end power would be superior, on a transitional course the EVO’s propensity toward understeer and would be more effective.
The car is very well damped from the factory and the stock tires are near R compound so the gains made through shocks and tires won’t be as dramatic as on other cars. In addition, unlike an oversteering car (ZO6, RX-7) a front bar doesn’t help.
Street Prepared
As the engine is only 2 liters and boost cannot be changed, very little hp gains can be made. Again, the car is very well damped from the factory and the stock tires are near R compound so the gains made through coil overs and tires won’t be as dramatic as on other cars. Weight is still 3300 lbs. and wheel wells are limited. Rear bar, camber, and shock tuning may be able to negate some of the understeer.
STX and SM
The EVO fits exactly to the rules of STX, 2L turbo, and while it would have hp advantage over the popular WRX in this class, the rules should allow approximately equal handling. If not excluded, the EVO would help to bulk up this class and the SCCA membership.
If the next Evo comes with active diffs, It should be excluded with the Sti, which should be illegal in STX due to the 2.5-liter turbo and adjustable center diff.
SM – the 2liter engine generates relatively high hp stock, but at 19psi turbo boost stock there isn’t much more room to go higher. Unlike turbocharging similar weight cars like a ’95 3 liter M3 or V6 S4 where 400 hp is possible.
Vehicle Dynamic Summary:
US EVO pros and cons
Pros: - Great performance in slippery conditions.
- Very good shock damping.
- Near R compound tires, Mitsubishi corp. says to expects 8,000 -10,000 miles.
- Brakes would show advantage only in heavy track use.
- Good seats.
- Excellent transitional repose and stability due to understeering 4WD system.
- Under $30,000 MSRP to be competitive with the WRX.
Cons: - High 3,300 lbs. curb wt.
- High CG, car is 57 in high.
- 60 /40 frt to rear weight balance.
- Understeering 4wd system.
- Lower than rated power rating with low turbo power at low rpm and turbo lag.

Karl,
Wow your times would've been up there in SM2, I felt bad they threw out Sat. times since you were leading ASP!
