Evo 8 brings home SCCA Nat' Tour trophy!
Perhaps next time the weather will cooperate...
The pictures were taken with a pair of Canon D-60's with an assortment of different lenses.
I'll be at the Rim of the World Rally, if anyone is interested in doing a "evolutionM.net" photoshoot.

]Here are some pics from the AutoX... btw, do you think you are the first official US release Evo to have participated in an SCCA event?
Mario,
The pics are great, some really good angles - Thanks!
I know that the US rally team has been campaining an EVO 8, but I believe I am the first to compete in SCCA in a production car, as CA got their cars first. I got the first one off the truck the week before the National Tour event.

Sheesh, talk about cherry-picking :-)
I'm surprised - BSP looks the most reasonable fit to me.
AStock, or perhaps BStock if the SEB's feeling charitable.
I know, I know. I did it because I called SCCA before the event and they said SS with the Zo6's! But actually, as I wrote before, SS ran at the same time and the time would've got 4th in that larger class also -would've been more satisfying. Also, the car was stone stock except for Kumho's, the EVO was well suited to the course and weather conditions.

So the Evo is grouped with a car weighing 100 pounds less and 134 more horsepower at the crank... who was the crackhead that you talked to?! Even the 390hp Cobra was dropped into AS, not SS, so why the hell is the Evo in SS? Can't see the issue being the brakes, as the 350Z track model has Brembos, it can't be the horsepower, as 271 is lower than most AS cars, and all wheel drive doesn't mean squat otherwise the WRX wouldn't live in DS. Time to get on the phone with these idiots that I send my membership payment to...

2Cool,
Not to mention 300mm + wide tires and mega slow corner exit torque on the Z06. I talked to Doug Gill, nice guy, and he talked to the top - Howard Duncan. He decided SS to see how the EVO would fair, I would think it will end up in B-stock against the 350Z and dominant S2000. But only if EVO owners lets the SCCA know that the US version has less performance than the world version (which are the performance figures that most people have read so far).

I pulled this off another thread, so Stock is set for better or worse, Any one hear any news about Street Prepared?
Hi, Ian,
New cars are hard to class, so the Solo Events Board likes to
see one for real at a dealership or at an event before they are
officially classed. Rather than keeping new, unclassed cars
from running, there is an allowance that lets those cars run
in SS until they are classed. Until it's published in FasTrack
which can take a while, the Evo was only allowed in SS, but it
was always a temporary measure.
In the May FasTrack which should be on-line soon, the
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (03+) is classed in A Stock
(AS) for 2003.
Hope this helps.
