another HORROR story
ok, so just took it out for a drive, cause i was being reassured everything was ok and i wanted to get some miles on the new clutch, nothing good came of this.
1) there are two different metal on metal noises, which if it was a loose heat shield, shouldn't it make the same noise everytime?
2) my 4th gear is ****ed. if i shift hard it works, but just casually shifting through the gears, 3rd to 4th grinds EVERY TIME. same down shifting from 5th. Also whenever i make a sharp turn, a noise comes from my front right wheel well, where problem #3 is
3) there is a hole in the fender well next to a pully, looks like it was designed to be removed to take off that pulley, however it wasn't replaced, and dirt and grime and causing my belt to whine

So after talking w/ gears (thanks for all your help) it looks like this is the major problem. mz313376 is gl-4, they used 8 qts. That means they used it for the transfer case as well, which needs gl-5. Gears told me that after about 1 tank of gas the transfer case would start to burn up and whine and scream all the time. Exactly what my car is doing, and didn't start doing til i'd gone over 200 miles down 75. So pretty much my tc is ****ed, as well as my 4th gear synchro, i love incompitence

called the dealership, AGAIN. they keep insisting that the clutch is making the whining noise, the rattling is still the exhaust shield, and the grinding..... "ummm drive it for a week, it can only get better or worse" great advice eh?
