Trouble Finding 2005 EVO VIII's

No cruise control, hardly any sound deadening, stiff suspension, high maintenance costs, jerky in traffic, so-so interior build quality, etc. It sure doesn't sound like a premium car to me (or anyone else, I'm sure). The Evolution is a sports car disguised as a 4 door car. There's nothing "premium" about it, the same as there's nothing "premium" or "upscale" about an STi. They are purpose-built cars, not limos. If you want a "premium import," I'd suggest looking elsewhere than Mitsubishi for one. Remember the Diamante? Wasn't that Mitsubishi's half-assed attempt at a "premium" car?
Secondly, big difference between a Grand Am and a Grand Prix, but that was only an example.
I could have picked up and RS for under $25k before TTL in April when I bought my SSL. If you can find one around today I bet you could pick up an RS for about that if not better or a GSR for about $27k before TTL. It's all just speculation, but I know the deal I got back in April so what you are looking for is definitely possible. It's jsut a matter of findning the car you want at a dealer that is looking to deal.

The price and availbility make it premium. The point is, your main "example" involves a used Pontiac. Doesn't mater if it is a GA or GP, it is a Pontiac. Their resale is atrocious. They were the only GM brand who's sales didn't go up during the Employee Pricing thing.
Just because someone else posts "I bet you could find..." or "the deal I could have got..." or the best statement:.
Well gee whiz. I never thought of it that way

Debating doesn't make someone a troll. Get over it.
Your debating skills are poor if you think a deal on a common used Pontiac has anything to do with buying a new semi-rare Mitsubishi. Why can't you understand that simple fact? The trolling part is about your talking down about the Evo's quality and features, and about Mitsubishis ability to build a competant car. It doesn't belong in this thread, so keep that BS to yourself.

Keep telling yourself that. It's a Lancer with an awd system, different motor, wide fenders, squinty headlights, and a hole in the top of the hood. It's about as "premium" as an STi, which is nothing more than a suped up Impreza. It's a freaking hotrod built off of a $15,000 compact car. But, whatever. If you want to believe that you have some "premium" car, you do that. The next thing ya know, you'll be trying to fool yourself into thinking it's an "exotic" too. Your perogative.

Where did I say that Mitsubishi didn't have the ability to build a competent car? I said that the Diamante was Mitsubishi's half-assed attempt at a premium automobile. Are you disagreeing with the facts? I don't think there's anyone here that would disagree that the Diamante SUCKED, period.
Semi-rare? Since when is a Mitsubishi rare? You're talking about finding an outgoing model. Of course there aren't a lot of them.
Did you see Camaros on dealership lots in 2003 when production ended in 2002? Your argument is pointless. I could drive 5 miles to the local Mitsubishi dealer and have an Evo within two days if there aren't any on the lot.I apologize if you didn't like the example I threw out there about buying a Grand Prix, but it wasn't posted for your liking. I was using it as a pricing example, and nothing more. I thought we already touched base on that? Why do you keep rambling on about it?
The only suggestion that I can offer you at this time is that you may want to work on your reading comprehension skills.
Your repetative arguing and sounding off is just beyond ridiculous at this point, and not even worthy of future response. You're right. You know it all.
From this point on, you can type to yourself (I'm betting that you actually respond. Remember, READING COMPREHENSION.).

Well... the guy in New Jersey is asking crazy money for that EVO VIII. He's trying to sell it to me for 32k. I told him I could probably get a 2006 IX for less than that... he eventually went down to 30k. I could probably get him a bit lower, but... just the fact that he was trying to start at 32k shows me that this guy is out of his skull. I think I can give up on that one.
The place in Maine sounds a lot better. They are already down to 29k... and they say "it's been on the lot for a while and we want to get rid of it". (Hopefully that doesn't mean it's been test-driven too much). Right now, it's looking like my EVO might come from Maine.

Sorry.
So does this guy want a GSR or does he want SSL?
Called LuxuryMotors in Chicago and worked out a deal on an 05 with SSL.
They are willing to sell under invoice but it isn't gonna be thousands cheaper than before.
They were selling these for invoice and 0% not too long ago.
SSL adds a couple grand but at least you get HIDs which are a MUST for a premium import.

The fact that their are only 2 like the one he wants in the NE makes it semi-rare. I've never heard of someone having to call out of state to find a Grand Am or Grand Prix new within the current model year.
I don't think Diamantes suck.
Your example with the Camaros is silly because everyone knew they were going out of production, the Evo is not. There are '06's and it is still calender year '05. WTF does that have to do with anything?
Stop justifying your initial hijacking of this thread with your pitiful "examples" as being relevant.
