Trouble Finding 2005 EVO VIII's
Trouble Finding 2005 EVO VIII's
This is killing me. I've been waiting to buy my EVO for about 3 years now. I'm finally in a position where I could afford one... but I can't seem to find 2005's anywhere. And has anybody else noticed that dealers and salesmen don't seem to know what they are talking about? I asked for an EVO VIII without the sun and sound package... and they keep telling me that is an RS. "No... I want an EVO VIII without the Sun and Sound"... "That's an RS" grrrrr.... The same guy was trying to explain the difference between the MR and the IX and said... "um... this one has a different shifter... yeah... and little fins on the top". Gee.. thanks.
The thing that really gets me is that before I got my new job I was talking to a salesguy that said he could get me an 2005 for around invoice price (or lower). We were talking about 27,000... but I couldn't say "yes" yet because I hadn't signed my contract. Now I have the job... and the guy doesn't work for the dealer anymore. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ne...ewthread&f=11#
Mad
I wish Mistubishi had a site like New England Subaru does. You can pick a state, a model, a year, and a trim... and they tell you exactly what dealer has what car. Has anybody seen something like this for Mitsubishi?
If I could get an 2005 EVO VIII for around 28,000 with that special 2.9 5-Year financing deal they have going now... I'd buy the thing today.
The 2006 EVO IX's are just a tiny bit over my budget.
Oh well. If I can't get my EVO... I'll cry for a while and settle for a Subaru Legacy GT Wagon.

Well... its too bad you just missed the 0%... try saying you need an EVO VIII without SSL... they might get your point quicker.
There are a couple of guys on this board who work at dealers... hopefully they can help you out to allocate one of the remaining new VIII's.

Don't settle for something you really don't want.
They have 4 SSL's at luxurymotors in Chicago all 05' and numerous 06's with a gorgeous white and a GG MR in the showroom. I just picked mine up and flew out there on Saturday great experience no problems at all. Ask for Rick Bower's tell hime John sent you.
Yeah, if there is anybody here that knows where I might be able to pick up a 2005 EVO VIII withoutt SSL... Please let me know.
"why settle for a legacy? Why not just get a equally good STI?"
Well... I have a bit of an obsession with EVO's. I kind of feel that I want to own an EVO... anything else is "settling". The Legacy is my "settling" car. I got quoted a really good price on a 2005 GT Wagon (a few thousand below invoice). I testdrove it and it's a pretty sweet car. It still has enough power and decent handling so it's fun to drive. I was looking at STi's and WRX's... but I'm not crazy about the way the 2006's look... the the WRX is a bit too small for me. (And the wagon is ugly in my opinion).
The STi is a very nice car... but I want an EVO. If I can't get it.. then I get the 'family' car.

Don't just "settle" for something. You'll regret it. You'll still want an Evo VIII, regardless if you bought a Legacy GT Wagon, an STi, a Camaro, etc. Find yourself an Evo VIII. It might just take a bit of work.

yeah like me haha I settled for an STi because I needed a car and didn't want to wait for the Evo IX...now I have an STi I'm considering trading in for the IX...stupid me stupid me...but it's still a beast of a car so I'll probably end up keeping it...
good luck

my friend just bought a brand new VIII w/ssl for 950 less than invoice...last one the dealer had and they went below invoice just to get rid of it

). But I'll take a look at it. Thanks....maybe they have cheap flights to Texas.
I think Fox Mitsubishi in Grand Rapids, MI still has a 05 RR EVO VIII. I am not sure how many miles are on it though, it might have been a demo.
Fox Mitsubishi You can probably get a fairly cheap ticket and drive it home. Ask for Chris Huvaere(sales manager)
Looks like there are only three left in the north east. None in Massachusetts. Black and silver. What color do you want? How far are you willing to travel?
The interest rate, plus the dealer's willing to cut the price to clear old stock makes VIII's more afforadable then IX's, so I understand what you are going through. But they are getting scarce. I had to drive to Memphis to get mine.

Yeah... If I can find one... the price would be great. A $330 a month payment for an EVO.
I could live with that!I'd be willing to go anywhere in the North East. New England... New Jersey / New York. I'm looking for a Sliver one. Black is my second pick (but my buddy told me to avoid Black because it shows all the scratches). I'd be willing to go even further if the price was really good.
