Evo MR because the M3 is a dated car now. The next generation M3 is just around the corner, and the rest of the 3 series line will be replaced by next summer. The current M3 is starting to look a little long in the tooth. Luxury cars tend to age faster than other vehicles. Look at the E39 M5 vs the E60 M5 for reference. If you were talking about the E90 M3 I would say get it but you are not so pass and get the MR or wait for the E90 M3.

I sold my M3 to buy an Evo.

Best move I ever made. 'Nuff said.

I spoke to a guy at an AutoX this summer that was replacing his track M3 with an EVO. They are nice cars but there is no way I would buy one unless I was going to keep it basically stock and use if for my street car to pick up money hungry chicks

E90 M3 is probably a year away and look for it to cost $65,000 with a few options.

For the guys who said "An M3 will help you get girls", if that's a reason for buying a car, I feel really bad for you.

EVO hands down! Everything that I want, nothing I don't want! I'm only trying to impress myself.

btw, I'd buy a Z06 before an M3.

Good choice. There's some great competition in the class, and that car has done very well.

What have you done to the Evo to dominate ITE? I am very tempted to sell my E36M3 and build a car for the class.

+1 to all that. But there's nothing wrong with driving a crumpet catcher if you can afford one in addition to your EVO.

C6 Z06 is the King Kong of modern sports cars. 505 hp pushing 3132 lbs. around the track, and starting at $66,000. You can't beat that.

Evo for me. I had an E36 M3 and it was over rated. I like our 05 Evo better. The E46 M3 just doesn't do anything for me. I think it's overweight, and the luxury items mean nothing too me. If I was in that price range, I'd get a C6 Corvette. FWIW, I also owned an 01 Z06 for four years.

im my opinion its evo all the way. i just know that the evo has so much potential and I mean just look at what AMS has done. And for the price of upgrading there is no comparison. Put around 2k into a IX and u will be around 300-350 awhp.(enough to at least stay even if not stomp on an m3) Oh yeah and the whole awd drive thing. Like edmunds.com said in their comparison of the evo ix and STi the evo will rarely penalize you if u make a mistake whereas i would believe that a rwd with that much hp would be quite easy to toss around and would be a lot less forgiving if u where to enter a corner to late. I also have to mention that the m3 while beautiful would be like twice as much and then when you reach those dreadful 40k mile marks you will have to fork over even more money i have also read a semi comparison between a ix and an m3 in a magazine i just bought called evo. (its not about evo's) they did a comparison of the all new audi rs4, a porsche carrera 4, and an evo ix (this is a british magazine and i think it was the fq-300) and the evo stomped on them all when it came to track times beating the rs4 by just over 4 seconds and the porsche by i think 2. Now they also did a comparison of the rs4 and the m3 and they luckily tested them on the same track that the evo ran on and the m3 was slower than the rs4 by just over one second which means that the m3 was a good five seconds slower around the same track as an evo that has around 300hp. I know that u will enjoy either of the cars and i have to say that i have had no problems with my IX and do not regret getting it

If u got the money go for the M3 i say, dont get me wrong i love my car, its great but ur compareing apples to oranges, there both in total diff catagorities. Again are u going to mod it, if so then of couse go for the evo cuz u got so many diff ways to go and u still will have some money left over but if u want great performance+luxury without no modding then go M3.

My father in laws 2002 ///M Roadster is for sale. It has 23,800 miles on it and has never been in the rain. It is a beautiful car, and tears the doors off of the M3. The roadster has the same engine as the M3 its the amazing 3.2L "S54" 315 horses. The M3 has 333hp but it will not hang with this car at all anywhere through the power band. If you would want 333 hp out of this motor all you would have to do is upgrade the exhaust. These ///M roadsters with the S54 motor were only made for 2 years. 2002 was the last year, its already a collectors car. all of the other ///M roadsters have the S52 motor with 240hp.
PM me if anyone is interested. I can get you more pics.

The m3 will suck in the snow big time. I like the M3 but i think that they are way overpriced and will cost u an arm and a leg to maintain.

i totally agree!!! if you want chicks get an m3, girls have no respect for an evo, prolly dont know what it is, they just think its a 4door with a huge wing on the back, if u pull up in an m3 they will be on you 4sure
