BMW'S SUCK!

Sorry. Just my opinion and mine alone. To me, there just way over priced and very expensive to maintain. Plus, they don't look all that nice to me and only a little better if you get the M3 or M5 which is a heck of a lot of money.

I know I'll get flamed. This is just my opinion and I'm sure I'm the minority. I've never liked them and have had many friends who owned them (no m3 or m5) and would never buy another.

If I had $50,000, I'd buy an EVO all over again and put 15,000 into it in mods! I love my car and definatly didn't buy it to get noticed! It's just a great toy. Kind of like owning a high powered go cart! The excitement has never diminished each time I get into the car!

Just some advise. Test drive both. Buy the one that makes you happy. Don't buy the one you think you'll get the most looks in.

My gf for some reason thinks the evo is a nice looking car, and i have a Z right now and says they both look good. I think she just really wants me to get the evo for the convenience of the back seats .

Man, it's another way round for me and my gf. She doesn't like the evo at all compared to the beemer. So, for less the price of an M3 (here around 175k USD), I got an Evo 8MR and she got a 318i....

But I'm going for the M3 for my next car though. The new 3-series look hot.

If you need a car to pull chicks, then you suck. My evo has been so good to me. Besides the warped rotor issue, I have had no other problems with my ride. I have been pushin close to 300WHP for over a year without a hiccup. I also get 23mpg even if I drive aggressively on 93 octane. Most people who don't have any problems never post vs. people that beat the **** out of there cars or just happened to get a lemon that tend to jump right on there computer venting to the online world may confuse people. Personally, I think the M3's interior is bland. The outside looks nice though. I also know a doctor that made the dealership replace his M3 b/c of reliability issues. $25,000 is alot of money, like a second car.

If you are afraid of the reliability of the EVO, you are not going to be happy with the M3 either. Both are nice cars and very high performance automobiles. Either can beat the other on a given day. It will all boil down to the best driver. If I had the $$, I'd get a new M3. Of course, I do love my '05 MR too

If I had the money I would have bought the new M3. I had enough money to get the evo and thats what I did. I added about/around $2,000 dollars in modifications and have a 11sec car.

If you got the EVO/wSSL or MR and put $5,000+ into it. I think you would have a much better car than the M3.

It all comes down to what you love and want. I love to work on my car. The pride of installing my own camshafts,exhaust,intake,fuel pump,FMIC,Exhaust mani, was great. I would love to learn to tune my car like dynofalsh does. With that said I would almost be afraid of turning wrenches on a M3, because I know if I broke it I could never afford it.

depends what you want/afford

Evo=paying for performance
M3=performance + luxury

Pick your poison, pay your price
