M3 or IX MR?
If you plan on modding the car, do not get the BWM.

As usual you guys are concerned with only straight line performance. I would imagine the Dinan M3 to keep up with a modded Evo on a road course fairly well.
M3s are very very good for road racing. The Evo is also.
Not everyone drag races.

i generally stay out of these discussions cause everyones entitled to their opinions but usually people say things that they have no experience with. obviously most everyone here will side with the evo cause that's what they know. well i had an e46 M3 and an evo8 at the same time. two different beast in my mind.
the m3 to me is a total luxury car vs the evo. tho stock vs stock the m3 and evo are close performance wise, the evo definately feels more like the sports car even tho its a 4 door compared to the m3 being a coupe. the evo is more "RAW". you feel more of the road as with all the inputs you apply. whether depressing the gas pedal or turning the steering wheel.
if you're into "modding", the evo hands down takes the cake. the m3 you can do ALL the engine and exhaust mods (bolt-on and keep it NA), spend 5k, and net only an additonal 20-30 hp on top of the stock 333 (flywheel). I was gonna do all these mods on mine (M3) but i drove one with all of these mods and honestly if it netted an extra 5hps, i'd be very surprised.
the modability on the evo is endless. you can gain lots of hps for very little cost. plus the information on modding is huge on this site. but be warned, do a search first if you have any questions otherwise you're gonna get ripped for not doing it...
so it really depends on what you want to do with the car...
nice and comfy street car... M3 all the way
fun and exciting track car... Evo all the way
if you're like me, i couldn't decide so i went with both.
actually i had the M3 as a toy car first than the evo came out and i had to have it too...
anyway goodluck with your choice. it's a tough one but either way i think you'll enjoy both
