Contact you technician from your dealership! Ask him what to do so you dont have problems later!

Take this coming from someone who works for a Mitsu dealership! It wont cost you a penny to call and get the right information! Plus if something does go wrong you can always go back to them and say, well you told me to do this!

Best of luck,

anytime. my dad actually still does civil service out at randolph and i'm a contractor on ft. sam. small world.

the offer still stands if you change your mind. a 14 hour drive to keep your car safe and happy for 4 months isn't that bad...

Before I got out .... I went on 6 month deployments all the time.

1. Fill the tank with gas it will be fine with a full tank.
2. Change the oil before you store the car.
3. Disconned the battery.
4. Put a condum over the exhaust pipe.
5. Put moth ***** around and in the car so mice dont build a nest in it.
6. Tell local authorities/trustworthy buddies where car will be stored so they can keep an eye on it. Provide them with contact info.
7. Remove anything that someone would break into the car for.
8. Add EXTRA insurance to the car for theft or vandalizm.
9. Apply a quality coat of wax.
10. Ensure tires are propperly inflated

Battery may need charging when you get back but other than that it will be fine. No need to drive or start the car.

Everyone already offered good advice already. Definitely look into renting a large enough storage unit for those 4 months and put the Evo on jackstands so the tires don't become warped (don't know if that's the word to use).

I would just get the fuel stabilizer I think its called Stabil?? (most all auto parts stores have it Pep-Boys, Autozone, Etc.) put it in the tank and then fill up, take it on a run, and then park it covered and you should be good to go. I wouldn't worry about draining any of the other fluids unless you were going to be gone 6 months or more.
