As the bell is controlled and more or less embedded in the ETACS computer and would be a real ***** to do away with permanently, I pretty much gave up on this.

However, I think quicksilverevo26 said it best (below). I have NO idea why I didnt think of doing this while working in the car.... DUH.

Say you want to dissable it while working on your car just open your door and take the screw out that is holding the "door open" switch.

Mine used to beep like you guys are describing. But, when I took it to the dealer [for the third time] to fix some wiring (because the remote wasn't working), the beeping stopped.

if what your reffering to is if you have the KEY in the ignition and it dings, i know how ot get rid of this. It was kind of by accident how it happened when i was putting my sterring colum covers back on. On the back of the ignition switch(have to do it with the covers off(both top and bottom) there a little white box, which has 2 springs and a peice of metal to make a connection when the key is in. i accidently broke the thing off, and was tripppin out why there little dinger never when off with my key in the ignition. I think it goes off either way door open or closed, the key just has to be in the ignition.
