Unhappy Open Door Issue

Recently, I have been noticing that my "Open Door" warning keeps going off everytime I either hit a bump or take a right turn. You all know the ding sound it makes so you know how it can be annoying going off all the time. I looked at the hinge and door assembly on either side and havent noticed anything different. Has anyone else every experienced this? Thanks for the help!

Thats Mitsu quality for you. I believe Mitsu makes a solid car when speaking of engine/tranny combo. But their quality elsewhere is always lacking. On my Eclipse I had:
-The top started forming holes and needed to be replaced
-The in-liner ripped and was hanging down and needed replaced
-There is some loud rattle sounds that comes from the back
-The AC compressor is very loud
-The canopy hood gets stuck when trying to lift
-The accent around the sub was rattling
-The right passenger speaker sounds/sounded bad
-The passenger visor vanity light didnt work
-The weather stripping around the drivers door has holes and is cracking
-The passenger door hinge was loose and needed to be tightened
-The battery lasted for 25k miles

I bought the car new and it now has 30k miles on it. I had issues since day 1 with 2 miles. I'm sure there are a couple more items I am forgetting. But the car has always ran great!!

Long story short just take it to a dealer if you still have a warranty and get it checked out.

I'm located in the wonderful state of North Dakota... so the nearest dealership is 5 hours away. I was going to see if anyone else had the problem... maybe I could just buy the sensors/assembly for the doors from mitsuparts.net. Also, I have had not a single other problem other then this.

That does suck. I have 3 dealers in my city but they all suck and I hope I don't have to get warranty work done ever again. Atleast if I have to they aren't too far away. But all my issues didn't happen at once.

I forget to mention that the convertible top stopped going up at around 3k miles.
-But the holes and in-liner occurred around 20k miles
-Loud weird rattle sounds in back were maybe around 10k and continue to this day
-AC compressor was recent. 30k
-Canopy hood getting stuck was around 20k
-Accent around the sub was on day 1. So about 2 miles
-Right passenger speaker was on day 1. Had it replaced at 20k. Sounded good for awhile and then started again. Most say it is a design flaw
-Passenger visor light was day 1 also
-Weather stripping around door was probably around 20k
-Passenger door hinge was around 5k

Generally they seem to get little stupid issues such as mine and yours as the miles and years accumulate. I'm not new to Mitsu. I've experienced it first hand and pray I dont have to again, although if I was a betting man i would count on having little stupid issues in the future on my Evo and continued future issues with the Eclipse.

Maybe try searching through the forum. I haven't seen anyone complain about it in the last 6 months though.

That sucks with all the troubles you have had. It seems that a lot of them are just due to poor quality. I feel like my issue is more of random one...not poor quality, just something broke. I mean mines a 2011 with 14500 miles and I do not hammer on the car minus some spirited fun with some other cars in town. I might just contact the local body shop here. they are pretty decent people. I highly doubt it's anything major... I just don't want them to say I need an entire new door -_-

Sounds like a sensor though. How do the door sensors work on our cars? Are they the typical black nipple thing where the door closes at? Maybe it went out.

You are right about the quality though. Like I said I believe Mitsu makes an excellent engine/tranny. I believe it will last many miles and years and have 100% faith in it. But the rest of the car is arguable when quality is concerned.

This is what I found trying to figure out the problem. Unfortuently it's only the front doors. I'm looking for rear right now.

Edit: Rear door is attached.
