I was looking at a 2012 GSR and it had zero VIN stickers on the doors, door frame, and trunk lid. It did have two metal plaques on the chassis of either side when you open the door, though. Is this normal?

A 2008 I looked at had all the door stickers but not those metal plaques. I searched and someone else asked a similar question, but there wasn't a good answer.

Would someone with a 2012 mind checking their doors, door frames, and trunk to see if the VIN is on them and also see if they have the metal plaque on each side (you'll see it down low after opening the front door)? Thanks.

Just checked mine. I have a sticker on the driver side with the VIN, and a metal plaque on the passenger side that just gives the model #, engine/axle/paint codes. Nothing on the doors, trunk, etc.. Might need more guys to chime in on what is actually normal though.

Thanks. That sounds identical to what I saw - maybe I remember wrong about the driver's side being metal. It's just weird after looking at the 08 and also my 06 and seeing VIN stickers everywhere.

no vin stickers on my 2011 gsr. I remember asking the dealer about this when i bought it. They went away with vin stickers in 2011.
