I forgot how loud a intake made the car

I just installed a Buschur Maf Pipe and Filter kit along with the Mini Battery and tray. The install time took 1hr30 approx. and all of the parts worked and fit just like they should. Kudos to Buschur for making great parts and shipping them quickly.

When I fired up the car and took it for a quick spin I had forgotten how much louder the turbo spooling was and how loud the BOV became with just a K/N stuck in the end of the MAF. It's a whole hell of alot louder.

i hear ya

question: when you added the maf pipe, was there anything that you need to do to the ecu? or it just as simple as bolting it on and just resetting the ecu (disconnecting the battery)?

That's what they say, but I'm going to Buschur's in 3 weeks for a TBE, Cams, and flash, so I'm not super concerned.

Buschur's site says you gian 4rwhp with the filter, so the amount is negligible, but it is alot louder. People want the VTA for the sound!! This is loud enough for me.

oh ya it sounds real good after the intake. its definitly louder then u would think, but the spool up sounds awesome.
ive heard that the air to fuel ratio's get a little messed up with an aftermarket intake and no tune, but u should be alright and after the tune the car will be a blast to drive. buschur definitly makes good stuff.

Yea I have the hks rs intake and love the sound of the turbo whistling. People who go for rides are always like what is that sound, it sounds like a plain or something.

Ive had both the HKS style intake and the K&N cone filter (on stock rubber inlet) on my car. the K&N is sooooo much louder than the HKS type filter. Car sounds like a jet, its unreal.

Pics of a standard cone-style intake? Haven't you seen that like a 1000 times on here? It's nothing new or special...

Just go buy a filter kit from Buschur for $80. It's not some unbelievable sound, but it is a hell of alot louder especially when the BOV releases. You don't realize how much the stock assembly muffles the sound. All you are hearing is it releasing back into the intake track, but it's still loud to me.

Go buy one. I bought he MAF pipe from someone on the forum for 130$ shipped and bought the filter/mini battery from Buschur it took 5 days to get to my house counting the weekend.

I agree with the windows cracked it's too loud. When they are up I can still hear music and hold a conversation, but I don't get on it that much anyway. I probably going to have to wear earplugs once the BOV is VTA and a open gate is on the car down the road. Getting old me thinks
