hello there, i personally own a 2002 Lancer ES and i dont do anything cosmetic wise to it due to the fact that its not fast, and will never be due to the fact i dont want to drop the money in to turbo my econo sedan

however; there are base lancer owners who tend to go the "all show" approch, and what i mean by this is a lot of base lancer owners are putting evo 7 and even some evo8 body kits on their cars, i think this is really really horrible, and just ugly to be honest, but to each his own right

anyway, i was curious if actual evo owners had an opinion on base lancers trying to "look fast" by looking more like an evo, and still having no go whatsoever

and i would have to say that its better than trying to make a honda del sol look like a bmw z3 (i saw it somewhere on s2ki when i had my S2000, just wish i could find the link again it was fu@kin funny!).

 

hah i love it. i saw one not too long ago.. a lancer all riced out, bright yellow, with every part he could find to make his car look like an evo, fast and furious style. so i parked my MR right next to his just so he'd see it when he got in his car.

 

wow u'r one of the few lancer owners that feels that way. i'm kinda surprised...in a good way. most of them usually say something like "yea, i'll remove my evo7 wing if u remove ur evo9 jdm bumper" and etc. i know someone with a lancer who does some show and some go and keeps it tasteful, and that's what i like to see. i also give props to lancer guys who try something new instead of doing the same thing as everyone else (evo kit this and evo part that) and make their cars more unique (forced induction is always welcomed). i'm not gonna be uptight about what someone does to their car, but some of these guys r pretty ridiculous when u talk to them. i remember one owner was bragging how he "beats evos at car shows" and that it's teh ghey for evo guys to leave their cars stock on the outside...

yeah, its one think to trick out a car thats already fast stock and another to trick it out when its slow

and as for "beats evos at car shows" that truely is ridiculous, wernt we always taught as kids to not to try and be something we're not?

 

I don't have a problem with lancer owners modifying their cars to look like evos. It is the same as throwing an evo 9 bumper on an 8, etc. I DO have a problem when it just gets stupid. For example I have seen lancers with Honda V-Tec badging, and even Mercedes Kompressor badging. If you are gonna make your car look like another car, at least keep it in the family.

 

For all the money they drop on cosmetics they could get a real evo.

 

I am too surprise that you feel that way since you are an ES owner. Most of the regular lancer owners get real defensive about this topic. Indeed, whatever floats their boat. But as for my opinion, I think it's pretty ghey. I don't understand why they would put a Evo this/that on the lancer and say they are not trying to look like an EVO.

Uh so OK, put EVO parts on it but not trying to look like an EVO. That is the biggest contradiction. That also goes for the EVO 9 bumpers on a EVO 8 too. I think body kits suck in general too. Anyways, just my opinion and no one elses. So no need to get too butt hurt people.

 

I see lancers with big EVO wings all the time and I dont even give it a 2nd thought. They're so far from me... they cant even touch this.

i really hate that!!! are they supid or what?Is like me trying to race one of those racing skyline gtr that have over 600 horse power. other that that i am cool with what es guys do to their lancer.

 

The only thing that I think is ridiculous are the guys that put the UK Evolution VIII badging on their lancers...........

 

This is the comment which I hate the most. I'm not even going to explain why, if you want an answer just search.

People just need to stop caring what other people do to their cars. If you don't like it fine, just let it go there. If a honda owner wants to put BMW emblems all over his car, fine. Who cares. If he is having fun changing things in his car then thats all that matters. Now there are some people that have a stupid attitude to go along with their "riced" out car so to say. If a Lancer owner truely believes his fake evo can perform like the real thing then its his attitude that should be questioned not the fact that he had fun building up his car.

 

I think posts like these make lancer guys come over here and argue. What's the point?
