you pushed the car beyond its limit, even if you're in a Kia spectra it still would have occured. Like someone suggest earlier go to a driving school, which is what I intend to do as well as soon as I have some time off.

Sucks that you wrecked.

I have a Jetta TDI also. Awesome on gas. It's NOT a sports car, don't try and treat it like one. If you want a sports car, get one that's supposed to be a sports car.

i suppose i could respond. lets all assume i was on a closed course. also keep in mind ive prolly spent no more than 10 hours behind the wheel of my evo. i was coming around a 40mph turn im not sure how fast i was going but last i saw i hit atleast 90. everything was fine the road was dry, the car was holding like it was on rails. all the sudden i see another driver coming around. i touch the brakes, next thing i know its coming out from under me. we all know how our steering is and im just not used to it yet. i over corrected (couple times) slid backwards down a steep ditch slid sideways through a plowed field for about 150 yards bounced the rear drivers side tire off a tree, bounced back around and took another tree to the passenger door. my girlfriend at the time wasnt even wearing a seatbelt. luckly there was no frontal collision so the airbags never went off. the evo is an extremely safe car. i ate **** goin 90 and both of us walked away without a scratch. yes i don own a modded lightning so i suppose the evo isnt really too much car for me i was just dumb enough to get cocky in a car i wasnt familar with.

TDI Jettas rev like trucks, and not cool trucks like Lightnings, they just run out of gas on top.

If it IS totaled and you have gap insurance, I say get another Evo!

I think touching the brakes in a high speed corner could spell disaster in nearly any car.

i'm not one to normally say this.. but you realize you could have gone to jail for a long long time if your gf would have been killed.. no seatbelt in the evo.. that's crazy..
