Check my homepage for links on TDIs. I love mine... as a daily. As for your crash, sorry to hear, but rule #1 - NEVER LIFT!

Big mistake hitting the brakes while in a corner if you were pushing it. Definitely need high performance driving school.

I'd like to sincerely thank you on behalf of all Evo owners who plan on KEEPING their cars for making our insurance rates that much higher.

I suggest you buy a Buick and whack that into some trees that way all the old people out there can help shoulder your irresponsibility as penalty for slow driving.

Please don't glorify this thread with requests for pictures, you'll just encourage more 16 year olds to run out and smash perfectly good cars that they didn't pay for.

hey, he was man enough to admit that he was not comfortable enough in the car, and pushed it to HIS limits. If u r not a good and comfortable driver, as easy as the EVO is to drive, its not invinceable. Im glad ur alright. We have all done dumb things before, its what u take from it that makes u smarter!

Well this just goes to show that the whole notion that young evo owners are the only ones that are crashing their evos is not true. I'm glad your ok, but you might want to step down a notch in performance for the future. Or, you may just want to go to driving school.

yeah when it comes to owning a sportscar, i always highly recommend people to autocross or roadrace even just once or twice to truely get confortable w/ their own cars at the limits of traction. overcorrecting as you said will occur since you have no sense of how much steering is necessary as well as any brake/gas adjustments to help you regain traction. also you will get used to the nature of the slide (for your car) and calmly drive THROUGH it without stabbing the brakes...

either way good thing no one was hurt, hope everything goes well (watever car you get next)

I agree 100%, I don't care how much experince someone can have on the street. Nothing compares to how much you learn at the track. I sucked up my pride this weekend and did an entire autocross event with an instructor. I left feeling better about my driving skill. Next month I plan to attend a PCA event and get an instructor for a road course. Here is a vid of the autocross with the instructor. BTW check out my ghetto video mount. I tightwrapped my digital camera to my rearview mirror. It worked awesome, made the guys who spent real money on the camera mounts jealous

I think this guy lacks the maturity to drive any car. He could have hit another car and killed someone. I don't feel sorry for him in any way, but I am glad no innocent perdestrians were hurt.

Please turn your license in
