the evo is a woderful machine but education is very important, when i was 19 i really wanted an evo too but the costs of one was too high for me so i settled with a mazda 6. now i am in my last semester of school and i'm glad i waited because the IX is out. , but it's your call. I hope all goes well for you

Education BRO! like others have said. Get done with school first and then the Evo can be your grad present. By then the IX will be cheaper and the 10's will be out.

I am 19, full-time student, and drive an EVO. HOWEVER, i work 40+ hrs a week and go to school full time (16 units) which leaves time for nothing other than work and school, I dont even get to enjoy my car.

You need to decide your priorities in your life at this point. I love my EVO: I get all kinds of looks and props in it, have fun driving it, etc. But i would rather work less, go to school and enjoy my friends company etc while i am in the situation to do so. I think the social and educational aspects of college outweigh the enjoyment of any car and the amount of work it takes to own one.

The odds are that you are going to work a good portion of your life after college. Why start early? Enjoy your young adulthood. Nice cars will ALWAYS be there, your youth and college experience during your youth is now.

I am not downing the EVO: Best car I have owned. But compared to the other opportunities in front of me, I will gladly wait until after college to buy one. Just my .02, I hope this helps.

P.s. I pay for the car and insurance all myself. Obviously, or I would not have written all that hahaha.

you guys are telling me everything i wanted to hear. i had two options: either wait till i graduate, move into my own place, and have a steady job/income, or sell my GTi now, take out a loan, get a job, work nearly full time, and still goto school. i just needed some good reasons why to wait, and you did it for me. now its time to learn about the car so i know what i wanna do when i get one!

Well as far as insurance goes I pay about $1200 every 6 months so therefor every year I pay about $2400. This probably would be a little more for the rest of you because some how me being a girl gets me a lower premium as a driver. but anyways. Patso, im right there with you, I love the car, but I dont have time to enjoy my car either. It either sits in the parking lot at school or work or in my garage, no fun time.

I bought my EVO when I was 19, I am 21 now. I paid for everything myself but I also was working fulltime. Let me just say don't make the purchase unless you are positive that you have enough money to cover everything. If you are unsure at all don't make the purchase. I remember one time when I needed new tires I just barely had enough to cover the tires and pay for my food and gas the rest of the week.

Good call man! You can live on cheaper dsm's, they're alot of fun too. Just dont let them take over your live like they did to me... they turn you into a full time mechanic! haha jk
