Turbo Timers
Turbo Timers
Just wondering for those that may have bought a Turbo timer for their Evo 8 which brand did you get? Or better yet, what companies have made harnesses for the Evo so far? Are our cars compatible with any other car type?
I need a TT. Today I drove a little hard so I let it sit for a couple of minutes. Man I hate sitting in my car waiting for that. 2 minutes seems like eternity.
On a side note in my hard driving I was taking some sharp corners testing out the handling of the car. It handles very well although every corner I took my tires squealed and broke loose. The car definitely has a tendency to understeer BUT to give it props it corrects SOOO easily. I was taking your normal semi 90 degree turns in a 2 lane turn at roughly 50mph? I didn't have time to look just guessing based on gear and rpms. I also had a passenger. I took the inside lane and the tires started to squeal while understeer was prevalent. A lift off the throttle for a second and the tail swings in perfect alignment of where you're going for you to hammer the throttle again and shoot off like a bullet. I'm curious as to how far I can actually push it before it becomes too much for the car. I need to hit a track or business lot for that though.

Us Florida owners have to do the old "sit and wait it out" routine, or risk a moving violation for leaving a vehicle running unattended. Kind of annoying, but I had gotten used to taking a minute or two of idle time with my 300ZX TT before shutting it down, so its no biggie when it becomes a habit.
Damn, they actually ticket you for that? Just tell em it's factory and it will shut off in a minute. Tell them all turbo cars will be this way soon
They can even sit and watch it shut down with you.

Anyone else think the HKS type1 TT is worth shelling out for? It's got some useful timing options, but the type1 has that kinda sky blue backlit. The red would be much better though...
I think I may just end up getting the type0 because it's like $30 cheaper and I probably won't even use the other 1/4 or 0-60 timers that much anyway.

Is there a Turbo Timer with red numbers that isn't the Apexi? The HKS is green that I can find.

I'll try and call a few companies tomorrow if I have the time to see if and when they'll have a harness for our cars. Hopefully I can get a list started with links to parts for the Evo. Maybe the moderators can make a special page in the marketplace with links to all of the Evo accessories and parts.
