Evo 8 pulls to the left under power is this normal?is it Torque steer

Just picked up an 2005 evo VIII, brand new and the thing pulls to the left on the highway and on the surface streets. If I let go of the wheel on the highway I am in the other lane in 2-3 seconds. It seems the faster I go the worse it is. Anyone else have this issue? Is there something wrong with the AWD system or could it be alignment? The dealership I got the car from claims its just how the evo VIIIs are I am saying its B.S. cause every other evo I have driven does not do this. Please some advice guys becasue I am going nuts. I can't Image you are all correcting to the right all the time............

if it's stock I would say it's most likely the alignment

um Id never let go of the wheel and accelerate in the car. The evo tracks pretty bad but its expected you can feel the road so well.. Have the other evos been 03s or 04s maybe they didnt have th front lsd...?

No, it's not normal. I went a year or so with perfect alignment, but now mine pulls left like yours. I attribute it to the tons of racing I've done - drag, auto-x, and road racing. I plan on getting alignment to fix it, during which I'll get my camber set to -2 in preparation for next year's racing.

no its not normal my father works @ a mistu.dealership. take the car back and tell them there full of poopy. and that you want a 4 wheel allignment under warr. or when the tires wear out and they can replace those because they didn't do the allignment like you asked before. that should change there attitude.

let go of the wheel is meant that I stop correcting to the right all the time not just let it fly. Even if the road is sloped to the right the car will drift left. It has 200 miles on it and it did this from the start. No mods just picked the car up yesterday.

I have the same prob in my 03. I JUST had my car aligned a couple days ago and it still pulls left. Let me know if you get it fixed and how.

It dosnt pull hard enough to really get me upset, but it is noticeable.

Before you get an alignment, check to see if your front tires have the same pressure on both sides. If they do, than I would suspect it to be an alignment problem.

My 03 pulls to the left also. But it didn't do that before the alignment I just rececntly got. Anyway I'm going back to get my alignment re-done, because it's driving me nuts!!!

Good luck in getting your car sorted out.

Check tire pressure and get an alignment and you should be set, if you were highly modded I would possibly think torque steer but stock I dont' see that really being possible.

Hmm, mine '05 pulls to the left sometimes when I break, but never when I accelerate, is that normal?

Got the aligment taken care of..... looks like I bought the car from some real dirt bags. Atleast the price was ok.

Thank you all for your quick responses it helped me back up what I was thinking and calmed my nerves.

I have a 05 evo 8 and when I bought mine it also pulled to the left went and took back to dealer they thought possible wrong tire pressure , not then they sent the car out to a four wheel alignment and still pulls to left that was when new. Have since rotated tires and car still pulls to the left with about 7000 miles on the odometer. Oh well had worst cars that done alot worst??????????????????????????
