Couldn't have said it better! Driving a beater on the weekdays makes the Evo feel like a million bucks! Plus less wear, less rain, less rocks, etc.

Yup. I diver here everyday. Even in the icy weather with all-season tires. I have one other car for backup but it's been sitting there. I think it may have a bald spot on the tires.

Pretty interesting comments. Thing is, I drive 40 miles each way to work. I can't see putting 80 miles on her a day especially since they wouldn't be "fun" miles. I'm going to have to get a civic beater or something. Atlanta's highways are filled with too many maniacs each morning...

same here i drive 44 miles to work and 44 miles home every day . I also have a boosted civic hatch back as my beater but i cant stand the ride of it , but love my evo.. i switch off occassionally just to keep the hatch in good running condition and make sure every thing is ok ..

I put about 37000miles in 2 years, I also have a beater that I drive when it snows. When the bigger turbo goes on I will only drive the beast on weekends...to save on fuel costs.

Did most of the time this past summer. Now I have cut back, for no good reason. Well, I have put 14,500 since this past March. 65 miles round trip - but most is back roads.
