Supposedly everything is the same, except you will have to plug up the hole for the O2 sensor on an aftermarket EVO 8 catback (if only changing the catback). If changing the entire exhaust it doesn't matter as the O2 sensor will just plug into the catback and the aftermarket HFC won't have any holes of an O2 sensor....

go to home depot and get a zinc plated(resists rust) bolt that is of the same thread size as the O2 sensor. I am sure that it is a standard size, but I don't have that info in front of me....sorry

thanks for the info so far ... that is a good idea with the bolt... i bet you could even paint a non zinc plated with rustoleum or something and get away with the rust problem. Does anyone have an idea of the size ?

O2 housing fits, BUT the o2 sensor hits the A/C pump. I had to cut out the bung and move up about 2 inches and put 2 thick washer under lower brace to clear DP.

I have a 06' EVO 9 MR and I bought the Espelier cat back for my car. I thought it was going to be a simple install - yeah, right. The EVO 9 has the O2 sensor in the freakin cat. This leaves a nice M18 X 1.5 fine thread hole in the exhaust pipe of the Espelier where the O2 for an EVO 8 is supposed to go. I thought, OK, I'll just go to Home Depot and size up a bolt to stick in there. Once again - wrong, Home Depot does not carry any 18mm bolts. I went to Lowes, ACE, and NAPA none of which carried a M18 X 1.5 bolt. I finally got sick of driving around and stuck my friends cat from an EVO 8 on my 9. He had put a full Buscher turboback on his car and I had his stock downpipe and cat at my house. The EVO 8 cat bolted up fine and after sinching up the extra length of O2 sensor wire with zip ties, the Espelier catback fit like a champ.
BTW - Home Depot, Lowes, ACE, and NAPA said they could "special order" the unique size I was looking for. The only place that may have that bolt in stock would be a fastener only store (somewhere that specializes in only fasteners). These places usally cater to industrial applications and usally stock a myrid of different size bolts.
Also, I don't think the spark plug is the same size. The spark plug is going to be way to small for the 18mm hole. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the O2 hole is bigger than a spark plug.

Umm... I just used an O2 plug bolt that came with the TurboXS system. I bought the Turbo back system from TurboXS and bolted up just fine with the exception of buying a Perrin O2 simulator to take care of the Check Engine light. Gained 25 whp on the dyno.

I put an HKS Hi-Power catback on my evo 9. I had to go to home depot and get a big screw to fit inside the 02 sensor in the catback. I just dont know what downpipe will fit
