To go along with TT post...how long to warm up?

If it's under 30 degrees and I start my car up and drive right away, there is hardly any power and it just keeps cutting out (not off, but a complete loss of power) for about a 1-2 minutes after I start it until the engine gets warmer. Is this bad for the engine, should I let it warm up?

Try sleeping for eight hours and then getting up and immediately runnnig around the block. Its not gonna happen. Not the same as running a cold car but a similar concept. I let my car warm for at least 3 mins after a long slumber in the summer time. Why would anyone in there right mind do what you descibed above???

very very bad... well maybe not very, but its bad. u have to remember that cold oil is very tar like instead of how it comes out of a bottle. in the long term u are going to do some serious damage. always always let ur car warm up, the loss of power is ur turbo struggling, lol. i normally let my car warm up till the needle is above the c, short of running low on gas i have always done that and never noticed any power loss... except when i am running low on gas and absolutly have to leave asap. even then i only use 1 and 2nd and go as slow as possible till it does warm up.... just dont do it anymore, lol

I don't even start driving it till the needle has at least started to move. I don't take it over 3000rpms till the temp. gauge is in it's normal postion. I don't start driving agressivelly till my tranny oil is warmed up, which takes longer, basiclly by the time I get out my 'hood.

My tranny oil is not stock and I live @ 2400 ft above sea level, gets bout 30-35 degress @ night, but my car is in my garage (dont know temp in garage).

I have an oil temp guage, and I wait until it reads 60 degress celsius before I give it any boost. Usually takes about five minutes.
