Any good magazine suggestions?
You can't go wrong with Grassroots. Lot's of technical articles and not a whole lot of ads for bling bling bullsh1t. Besides, it comes free as part of a membership with NASA.

SCC: I think it is a farely great magazine, too short, true. They havef good SCC shootouts, the last one with the GTR, APR Evo, and the other Evo was great, the skyline only own because the evo blew its motor and the points proved that.
Turbo: Great mag. Period
DSport: You like tech, you'll like this.
Fast Fours: Euro mag, can find it at barnes n nobles have some really good stuff in there.

1. Import Tuner - great photography, clean rides - good looking models. Every once in a while a tech article comes along that is worth reading, and the dyno pages are interesting where they tune a variety of different cars. The Max Boost comic is poorly written and an utter disapointment which is a let down. But this one is my favorite
2. Super Street - Great JDM coverage and unique rides that usually haven't shown up anywhere else. The biggest one of the bunch, so plenty to look at. Has a more down to earth everyman feel that I find entertaining. Can be a lot of filler and a little too crude at times. But easy to get in to.
3. Modified - Very slick, but somewhat lacks the soul the above two do. It seems that don't get to too many unique cars, has a me too feel even though they have a very high production quality to them, still very nice if it weren't for the fact I have so many subscriptions, I would probably rank this one much higher.
4. Sport Compact Car - What happened? I can read just about the whole thing in one session on my morning...umm, throne sitting. I feel like I've been robbed. They are too cynical now, too 'everything is crap, everybody is a ricer, this the way it should be done.' Too preachy, but still something to look foward to because of all the knowledge they possess.
5. Turbo - The first import mag I ever read. Used to be a juggernaut, now a mere shadow of its former self. Waaay too me too. After reading the above four, not much in Turbo seems new and fresh, I no longer am a subscriber.

Import Tuner is not a car mag. It is a girlie mag. If I want to look at pics of girls, I will choose mag. that shows a helluva lot more than Import Tuner. If I want a car mag., I will choose SCC, Grassroots, AutoWeek, etc. etc. etc.
Ok the link to JDM option magazine.
Website of Japanese Option Magazine
Its Japanese right now but English version is coming soon. worth to take a look IMO

evo is by far and away the best car magazine that i have ever found. i personally feel that it owns top gear any day. evo also loves the evo (weird huh
) the issue that had them letting go of their long term fq-330 is one of the best evo related articles i have ever read. i am just not a fan of top gear mostly because i dont feel that the writing conveys the same pasion that evo does and i also do not really like their layout. but that is just me. you can not go wrong with a subscription to evo even if it cost 200 it would still be worth it for sure.

TO me, rice is unpainted body kits, spinner hubcaps, LED windshield wiper nozzles, etc and you won't find any of that in Import Tuner.
Im pretty sure Import Tuner is rice. TO ME, rice is....
1-A 96 Civic EX with 20" and Lambo doors (cover car 02/04)
2-A 94-97 Accord Chop Top w/ Air Bags (cover car xx/01-02)
Etc, Etc, Etc
