Traded in 03' for 06' RS.....well worth it(Impressions inside)

There were some things i really wanted that the 03 Evo doesn't offer-front lsd, mivec and 10.5 hotside. I got to thinking and last week traded in my BBY 03' for a 06' RS. I didn't want to lose more money on the BBY(36,000 miles), plus i got a great deal.

Everything people say about this car is true!
-Faster spool
-More power throughout the band
-Front LSD is insane(as i didn't have one on the 03')
-shorter shifter(my hand has perfect placement)
-suspension is a little softer
-black steering wheel is hott
-MIVEC reminds me of my Type R(lots of valvetrain noise)
-More engine sound, it actually sounds like a sports car
-Brakes feel better
-Revised 1st gear is very short and insane

The RS is a MUCH better driver's Evo than the 03' i had. It can brake later and have the lsd pull me in, I also noticed that the front lsd helps rotate the car making it feel smaller. The mivec engine sounds like a mechanical symphony, it really impressed me. Honestly the EVO 9 is quite a car, and you can drive it like its on a magnetic track. The RS feels like my 03' with a Integra Type R twist, everyone thinking about trading their 03' should do it asap.

The best part-$2000 off msrp at SouthCoast Mitsubishi! Thanks SouthCoast

To be honest, if I were in the same position as you, I'd really have to think about it. The only three things I'd miss is:

1. The cool blue color
2. The radio
3. The power windows

But, you can easily take care of 2, and 3 can be done also.

su37su, goto southcoast, ask for mark and tell him kevin who had the black sti sent you, and that you want to pay $26k for the RS. He'll do the deal.

Hope this helps.

$26k? According to edmunds, that'd be $3,744 under MSRP or $2,036 under invoice (with gauge option package).

???

$26,456.25 to be exact. Plus if you buy before december 31st, he's adding free maintanence for as long as you own the car

This is for an RS as stated in the title. The Regular Evo IX would be $28,965.45.

Hope that helps.

That's a great price. Does it include destination fee? Or the optional gauge package? Was that the final selling price, then add on ttl?

Thanks for the info.

Just got a letter from the local mitsu dealer offering 0% financing. I suppose that means "0%, if you pay 110% of MSRP"

Congrats on your purchase. But I don't think the suspension is softer because the IX have the same supension set-up like the VIII.
